Discus and support Reset xbox but keep games and apps, now can't find my gamer tag in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; my friend has had trouble online so I told him to reset Xbox and keep games and apps.     my friend has had trouble online so I told him to reset Xbox and keep games and apps. Now he has trouble recovering his gamer tag. Any help appreciated

    Game progress and achievements go with your profile and are saved up to the cloud so as long as you are signed into the same account after a reset when you start up a game it will synch up with the cloud and pull your game progress back down.

    Why Cant I Take A Unused GT?

    On LIVE gamer tags may be taken since spacing doesn't count. So , which is my gamer tag, is essentially the same as Defone. It will show Defone being taken even if you can't find that gamer tag.
