    Hello to everyone in the discussion forum. Thanks for reading.

    The first time I factory reset my XB1 I had problems entering my account details in so many ways, so I made a new account because the first account only had a disney infinity and lego batman save, both I own on disc so no big loss there.

    Recently I pressed reset and keep my games and apps...

    I was asked to enter an existing outlook or telephone or create a new account, I entered my existing outlook, I was asked for my D.O.B. which I entered, I was asked to create a new password but I have no idea why. A message asking me to check my email and
    enter a security code into my XB1 to verify I am the owner, but how? XB1 just assumed I have another device to do this... So I got another device and went to outlook but there was no code. I clicked resend code, refreshed outlook but no code. The only other
    option available was email typo error so I clicked this and submitted my outlook again... profile not found! There was no more options, I pressed B to go back where I could enter my outlook or telephone number, this time I entered my telephone number associated
    with my outlook account, I had to enter my D.O.B. and a new password. I was then taken through the XB1 setup options and then to the home screen. I had a new gamertag and an allmost identical outlook address, no games, no apps, which I found confusing, something
    has gone wrong. I have my download games and dlc on the account I was trying to setup, and to loose this account would be a huge blow to the *morning. I went to add new profile and my profile and games were added immediately, I was so relieved, but still confused.
    Why did I not receive the security code? Why was my profile not found? Why did my telephone number generate a new but allmost identical account? The reset and keep my games and apps has not worked in the correct way and has left me baffled and confused. This
    reset process is stressful for me because something that should be simple turns into a problem for me. So I disconnected from my network to see if something will go wrong... error 0x80072ee7... omg I could explode, every game except disc games are showing
    this error. I connect to my network, launched a game, a message appears saying getting your game ready this might take a minute or two, then the game syncs data, and I repeated for all my games. Thank the stars I am poor and own a handfull of games because
    otherwise I could of gone insane if I had lots of games to do this process for. So I disconnected from my network and my games will now launch. Anyway my end conclusion is the XB1 reset and keep my games and apps did not keep my games and apps. The reset faulted
    when I tried to setup an existing account, and somehow invented a new outlook account that is one character different to the account I was trying to setup with an existing telephone number.

    Have fun trying to explain this problem I have, is the problem me? I see this as a hardware account error that has frustrated me more than once. All feedback will be educational for me and thanks if you input valid responces that can help me understand what
    is going wrong... what should happen... and everything in-between so either myself or XB1 can address the issue I encounter so I can reset again and have my account, the one and only account with my games setup as the primary owner on my XB1 simply without
    fustration.

    How to Clear Your Xbox One's Cache

    I had a problem with Skype the other day and only resetting fixed it.


    What do people think about doing a manual reset once a week just to avoid problems?


    I have security camera DVR and it automatically will reboot once a week at a time you can set.
    I have it set to reboot Sun at midnight.


    I would rather reset once a week and help eliminate any problems that try to Skye with someone
    and try and try and try only to have to reboot when I need to do something.


    Any thoughts???????

    Reset problems

    So what sounds like happened is this.

    1. You set up an account with an email address. (that may have been mistyped in when setting up)

    2. Purchased games on that account.

    3. Set console as your home console for that account. Which is why the games show back up in ready to install when connected to the internet. And why you can play those games with another account on the console while connected to the internet.

    4. If you put your console into offline mode in settings under network settings before trying to play a game while not connected to the internet since the console is your home console you should be able to play those games without it giving you the error
    on your new account.

    5. If you want to try and get your original account back and know the gamertag for the account you can reach out to xbox support by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us and give them your gamertag and if they can verify ownership of the account they can
    give you the email associated with the gamertag.

    5.1 If you are not sure of the gamertag but know have used a credit/debit card to make a purchase with that account and the card is still active on the account xbox support can do a search with that card number and find any account that card is still actively
    on and again if they can verify ownership of the account can give you the email address associated with the account.

    to log into, but from the xbox home add profile I could sign in to my account without a problem. There is a problem with reset and add existing account which will not let me add an existing account after I reset.

    when you tried to put it is you got the message the account was not found then when you put in the phone number it generated a new account with the email.

    So once again at this point the best thing to do would be to contact xbox support and see if they can find the account for you with the gamertag.

    Thank you so much. I contacted support and they have escalated my issue as a priority as to return a full investigation within 48-72 hours with their offline specialists as I should've been able to reset and log in with my existing account without any problems,
    support aggress something went wrong thats needs investigating because my email should not have said profile not found as I am a good player with very little negative feedback the system should not have blocked my attempt to sign in and automatically generate
    a new email with my phone number without my consent. Also I am signed into 2 accounts at the same time which apparently should not be possible. They will look for a workaround to my issue and make sure it never happens again, I'm not sure what they will do
    yet but I will post the outcome here. Thank you for your great advice.

    customer support will not take me seriously and wants video proof. they wont investigate because I can not prove it. Well guess what everyone....

    If somebody gets your email address (not exactly hard to find) your telephone number (which can be bought along with everyone else's data) anyone can create a similar email account and attach your telephone number to it without a security alert. This will
    glitch your current account and remove your number from it without any security alerts. And your account will loose all knowledge that a telephone number was ever active on the account. Now if someone blocks your account through failed sign ins there is no
    way you can retrieve your account unless you have used a credit/debit card that is still in use on the account to make a purchase and can prove it is yours.

    Just a matter of time untill a group of people exploit this security glitch.

    It sounds like your profile might be corrupt. Recovering it should fix the problem.
