    Reset Parent settings


    Hi There

    My Name is Rodd we have purchased a second hand X BOX 360 for our son as his last one had the red death light.

    Our problem is that the last owner has set strict parent settings, they have left town and not contactable, is there any way we can reset parent controls without the pass word or security question as my son cannot play anything but Minecraft??

    how do you reset your console so the parents settings would get turned off.

    No more family settings

    I don't need a family setting and there should be one but if you forget the code to both questions the family settings should auto matickly reset and be sent to parent gmail for the parent to make a new account password.the fact that pissis me off is the
    fact you can't reset your own family setting.

    Resetting Parental settings

    Hi there. If you set the correct date to your account when it was created, now that you're 18 there should be an option under Account Management to promote it to adult status. If you cannot see this option then the account is not yet 18.

    If that is the case you will need to get your Dad's friend to go through a password recovery for that email in order to resolve this issue. If he no longer uses the email account and it has been closed then there isn't anything you can do.

    If you have forgotten your pass code for your Xbox 360, you can reset it by answering the pass code question you created when you set up parental controls.

    If you don’t remember your pass code question or don’t know the pass code for your Xbox 360, you can reset the pass code online.

    You must meet the following criteria to be able to reset your pass code online:

    Your Microsoft account must be an adult account.

    The console must be registered in your name.

    Sign in to your Microsoft account and go to the Devices tab.

    https://account.microsoft.com/devices

    Locate your registered Xbox 360 console and select Show Details. (If it's not registered you can do it by pressing add a device)

    Select Manage, select Reset passcode, and then follow the instructions to reset your pass code

    in order to reset a family passcode you will need to contact Xbox Support, They will need the serial ID of the console and will do something on their end, after which they will guide you through the steps to reset it on your end.
