    Reserving Gamer Tags


    People can reserve gamer tags so others can't take them.

    So I spoke to a support member at Microsoft today, (Who was very polite and patient) and I found out that people can reserve gamer tags so other cannot take them. They don't even need to pay for the tag. They can just keep being on the "Would you like to confirm this change?" page and no one will be able to take the gamer tag. It seems it's been abused for a long time, which is interesting. Obviously this is an issue and it should be avoided/dealt with.

    Microsoft reserves the right to change your gamer tag if someone else that uses our services is offended by the gamer tag. Microsoft will always let you create your tag but its at your own risk as mentioned in the

    Xbox live terms of use    .

    If someone takes offense to your gamer tag the report is considered by our enforcement.

    If you are the slot above your gamer tag is reserved for your name. Is it at all possible you or someone you know changed your name too "Ace Of". ???

    If the system indicates that the tag is taken or reserved then it is not available for use. These tags are used on other MS services other than xbox.
