Researching to buy new headset please help! :)

The best thing about the Astros is the MixAmp, and it's worth getting just for that IMHO.

The headphones themselves are bit overpriced, but the 4Shots, XO7s and XO4s are worse relative to the performance they provide.

Personally, I like the A40s better, but I know they're not practical for some setups. You might consider buying the Astros refurbished to lessen the hit on your wallet. The A50s are only $200 and the A40s only $180, and if you buy through Amazon, you have
a no-hassle 30-day money-back guarantee. Astro also gives you a 1-year warranty (same as the retail set), but I'd avoid dealing with their customer support until you have to.

One good thing about the XO7s is that there is NO setup involved whatsoever!(providing your controller has been updated) you simply take them out of the box and plug them into your controller and you have sound. Nothing goes to the console, or anywhere else
at all.

I have had turtle beaches and want impressed. Astro blows anything tb makes out of the water. I have both the a40s and a50s. And theyre both fantastic. If you can deal with the wires id go with the a40s because with the mixamp you can always upgrade the
headphones if need be. Also, astro customer service is top notch once you register theres pretty much nothing to worry about.

Mog, I've never had the opportunity to try the Astro A50s, so there's not much I can say about them other than the fact that I've heard almost universal praise for them, so they must be doing something right.

the A50s are superb don't get me wrong, but definitely not worth the money compared to XO Sevens or similar for what the one can produce at present

I have a set of Astro A50's and they work great. I was worried about how they would sound and if they would drop audio since I heard some of the TB's do this, but I have never had 1 audio drop in the 5 months I have owned them. I am about 10 feet away from
the mixer. The feel of the headset is a lot better than both of the TB's I have owned. I highly recommend them.
