Researching to buy new headset please help! :)

I have a set of Astro A50's and they work great. I was worried about how they would sound and if they would drop audio since I heard some of the TB's do this, but I have never had 1 audio drop in the 5 months I have owned them. I am about 10 feet away from
the mixer. The feel of the headset is a lot better than both of the TB's I have owned. I highly recommend them.

the A50s are superb don't get me wrong, but definitely not worth the money compared to XO Sevens or similar for what the one can produce at present

they need to be a HAPPY headset user.

1. Purchase what you can afford.

2. Get what compliments your playing style.

3. Do your research and do it patiently.

What I have. Well I have been a consumer of TURTLE BEACH products for over six years. I have no complaints nor have I ever received a faulty product EVER. I have two headsets and the two are still great working headsets. My first headset was the early version
of what is now the X32, the X3. Great headset at the time and was considered a mid to high end headset which is now priced at $99.95 at turtlebeach.com. Great starter headset for any gamer level and great with any game.

Now my second headset was purchased last year. The turtlebeach Black Ops II TANGOS.

www.turtlebeach.com/.../27 What can I say. Durable, top of the line HIGH END headset that will last and compete for years to come with any headset. They work amazingly well with my Xbox One and 360. The headset does it all while being wireless and runs
on the WiFi bandwidth. Clean clear audio incoming and out going. Useful with my smartphone for phone calls or playing music. Deep rich bass and personal settings for how you want to hear your in-game audio.

Which headset works for xbox one and the 360? Is it the x04s?

 

GG, I haven't done any research in quite awhile when it comes to the latest TB wireless headsets, but I know for a fact that the X41's had a lot of trouble with audio drops, clicking and popping. I also got my Astro A50's when they were on sale at Best Buy
for $225.00. Who could pass that up? No disrespect to your X42's which use almost identical ear cups as my old DX12's did, but IMO the TB's aren't even in the same league as the Astro's when it comes to fit and feel.

 

Hey guys, first off sorry i couldnt really respond during the day busy day at work. I do really appreciate all the information though it is very helpful. Im still not really sure what im gonna buy but i am definitely buying something lol. Does anyone happen
to know if there will be a new astro headset soon? I would really hate to buy the A50s and soon a newer version come out since the price tag is that steep i just wanna be sure with my purchase, thanks again everyone all info is much appreciated.

 

It really isn't a matter of someone building an all wireless headset as some have mentioned. It has more to do with the fact that Microsoft has yet to allow voice through USB. If they would do this you could eliminate the wire to the controller as there
are multiple headsets out there that work this way, the A50s, the XO 7s, and Steelseries H wireless to name a few. I am really looking at the H wireless for purchase in the coming weeks as it has excellent cross platform compatibility and 20 hour battery life
with a spare battery.

 

@pistoleroPrez what are the H wireless? Sorry im not really a headset kind of guy basically gonna make a decision strictly on researching.

 

Just google it,SteelSeries is the manufacturer and have been making PC headsets for awhile. The H wireless headsets came out this year. There are a couple of youtube videos with review. One of the vids has them working on the One so I know it is possible.

 

Mog, I've never had the opportunity to try the Astro A50s, so there's not much I can say about them other than the fact that I've heard almost universal praise for them, so they must be doing something right.

 

i brought the titanfall atals ear force and the XO7s to compare. the titanfall ones aren't very good. mostly plastic and not very comfortable. also the sounds from the XO7 are better. I'm bringing back the ear force atlas. also the mic didn't come with a
foam on the atlas. the XO7 are pretty good if your willing to drop 150. too bad its not full wirelss

 

why not just buy turtle beach x12s for $35 then you can use the extra $100 or what ever and buy 3 more turtle beach x12s. Maybe you could buy a mixing board and use it with your headset or buy a present for mothers day on may 11th.

 

good luck not finding a headset made out of mostly plastic. If breaking the ear piece off is a issue for you, you may not want to spend a lot. plastic can break easy.

 

I am waiting for the next call of duty hoping turtle beach has some nice ones. We love our tango and xp500 but they don't work for chat w x1. The wireless chat, the way it at same time wirelessly connects to phone, and the surround sound work great for
us.
