Researching to buy new headset please help! :)

Hey my fellow xbox gamers, quick question. I'm in the market to buy a new headset and I have been doing research and hear a lot about Astros. I'm thinking of buying the A50s but its a bit of a gamble since they do carry a large price tag. Anyone have any
experience with them? As well as can anyone tell me how the wireless signal is, how far can i expect to be able to be from the system and still get reception. I'm mainly thinking of buying the A50s because i can use them as well when just watching TV, netflix,
that type of stuff late night and not wake up others in the house. If anyone can help me out it is much appreciated thanks a lot happy gaming!

Stereo headset problems.

I have the armed forces stereo headset, i was playing evolve beta, my play&charge pack died, got it charged a bit and i cant hear anything through my headset, my adapter wont even light up. Help please, i really dont want to buy a new adapter or headset.

 

Wireless headset doesn't play game sounds... feature or bug?

The microphone you purchase may not have the feature that allows you to hear the game inside of them. If you'd like to purchase a gaming headset please go to your local game store or search online for one. Some mics such as wireless ones and the one that
comes shipped with the Xbox do not have that feature. Try researching a gaming headset brand known as Turtle Beach. They can help you with your problem.

 

i'd say wait until they come out with an all wireless one..i've tried the MS Stereo headsets, Turtlebeach XO Fours, and the Polk 4 shots. The A50s would require a dongle to a controller aswell and arent worth the price tag for having to be wired imo.

I second that, wait for a truly all wireless headset. I am waiting until next year. In the meantime, my old TB's with a quick mod have been working just fine.

 

I use the Xbox One stereo headset. I use it for movies and TV as well as gaming. In fact, I can even plug it in to my phone and listen to music.

 

^Is that just the standard one that comes with the console, because I'd second that opinion. I even love the standard 360 one, that's all I've ever used on the 360.

 

No the one he is talking about cost $80 extra.

 

Oh realllllly, interesting. I can't say I'm a huge headset kind of guy. The standards have been more then enough! Disregard my terrible advice, haha.

 

I just got a set of TB XO sevens and they are superb.

Wireless to the xbox, only wired into the controller. Sound quality is superb too

 

I use the wireless TB X42s - they're wireless, have actual 5.1 surround sound built in the ear-cups, and plug into the TV, so you don't have to worry about buying the chat adapter if you don't mind muting your TV and using the Kinect (all of the sound will
come into your headset and you can freely talk to your friends via the sensor without any nasty feedback), which is what I do. Alternatively, you can also buy the chat adapter and actually use the detachable microphone that connects to the controller via a
wire if you don't like the idea of using the Kinect.

 

I use the Turtle Beach X42 too. The cool thing about the X42 is it's 2.4/5Ghz DUAL BAND transmitter which eliminates interference from common 2.4Ghz technology devices like your laptop and WiFi. It has Dolby Digital too (only 5.1 surround sound though).
For Xbox 1 though, I need to get a chat adaptor but will not get that so far because I only use the headset for game/TV audio and the Kinect for chat.

I use to own the Turtle Beach xp500 but it had a 2.4Ghz transmitter but it had B-E-A-T-I-F-U-L 7.1 Dolby Surround sound which is better than what my X42 can produce. I've tried both!! The reason why I don't have the xp500 is because it got faulty 11 months
into it's warranty and the retailer (under the NZ Consumers Guarantee Act) exchanged it for the Turtle Beach X42, refunded me the difference which was NZ$82, and is under a 12 month warranty which ends April Next year. The xp510 is similar to the xp500 but
like the x42, comes with a 2.4/5Ghz Dual Band transmitter.

There's no real need or want for me to spend hundreds or any more money on a headset specifically for Xbox 1 when I have a decent Dolby good headset for both Xbox 360 and Xbox 1.

 

I also have the Turtle Beach XO Sevens and I have not had a single complaint. The build quality is superb, and I am usually not a Turtle Beach fan. But I am truly impressed.

 

My friend has the A50. He's a fan. He uses them with his PC for phone calls at work and the mic works just fine. I have the A40 and A30 and they've always sounded great.

The A50 and most other third party headsets that were compatible with the XBOX 360 will work with the Xbox One via the

Stereo Headset Adapter. Other than the Tritton Warhead, there was no completely wireless headset for the 360 that didn't involve something plugged into the 360's controller. The same appears to be true this time around as well.
