No, the physical version does not require a Gold subscription, also because it is not a multiplayer game. You can safely play offline with your profile. To play it as a digital version (given by GwG) you need instead to have a Gold subscription.

Get the requirements to get it. Read the ribbons screens in your stats to have more knowledge.

Tactical defending is the way forward, it's much better than previous games and is much more realistic.

In terms of FUT, I would say get used to it, look for bargains in the auctions. You could take the easy route and use microsoft points to buy some gold packs. Otherwise then you need to work out the best way to make money (I'm not going to tell you my way cus
