Requesting old IE or alternative, the Edge internet surfing utility does not function properly.

These are ongoing problems through a wide variety of platforms as developers struggle to encode multi platform compatible applications.

My crystal ball is glowing. They tested it on everything but the One, and just rolled out an all platform update anyways.

Please respond if you've also dealt with less functionality when using the Edge application on the One, using only the One supplied handheld controller, viewing on a regular 1080 flatscreen. I'm on the RCA 40" led lcd 40g.

Regardless, I'm not confusing the 360 with the One.

Edge was updated and subsequently no longer functions as well as the old version. One might presume it was an all new program based on how entirely different it suddenly presented and functioned with the 'updates'.

Requesting the old version back or a reconsideration of the changes because they have resulted in a notable decline in user capability and intuitive ease of use. Better yet, a Mozilla alternative.

Why is every update these days taking away simple functionality? Illusions of value added service for the next platform roll out I suppose. Simple enough for you?

Several months ago the Internet Explorer app on the Xbox One was switched to Edge. It's not working properly. Please address the following shortcomings and hopefully also consider several other suggestions which would benefit the user.

This Edge program does not function properly for me on screen. Specifically the pointer icon jumps all over without my permission, simply from trying to navigate pages, use the scroll bar on the side, and other unpredictable actions. Especially problematic
near the top and sides of the internet pages. It appears the borders and frames and such are possibly not set up or interacting properly with the pointer icon when the user is trying to use on screen Edge for web surfing and internet page navigation. I'll
click the scroller bar on the side to move the page up or down but the pointer icon often jumps upward right when I hover over the bar, as it improperly predicts I'm trying to use quick jump navigation features on the top of the page and does not properly
recognize I was actually hovering over the side scroll bar. There is only one tiny portion on the lower side of the scroll bar which actually works properly so I have to very carefully and very slowly move the pointer icon to that exact bottom point on the
scroller bar to avoid causing the pointer icon to quick auto jump elsewhere. The older IE which simply scrolled down page when I held the icon anywhere at the bottom of the page was much easier to work with, please bring that auto scroll feature back. This
application now has degraded the functionality and ease of use to such a degree I can hardly use the web surfing utility on the xbox one. Also I would like the navigation features on top to be hidden on command, I rarely use those and this clutters the screen
view. I can no longer use the standard console One controller in a comprehensive way to accomplish surfing and searching actions, forward back pages with triggers, simply scrolling down page by moving the icon without having to grab the side bar, etc. It
used to be intuitive but now it is not. Now I'm limited to using the icon pointer and it jumps around because the pointer is not recognizing the same feature and framing points in the same spacial arrangements as the user sees on screen. Although the appearance
of the page is normal, the functionality of the control tools does not follow the actual on screen locations of controls and on screen buttons one might press. For example the back page arrow button, I can only grab the lower tiny portion of that because
if I move the icon too high up in that little square, the icon then jumps upward to the upper site history section. Then when I take it back down, the icon pointer jumps back to the middle of the page. This has become a time sink and all of my guests whom
have seen this say, why is it doing that? I tell them that's yet another 'upgrade' which diminished the practical usability of the One internet explorer application. I'm using a typical 40" w/ a wired controller and have no other associated or integrated
devices.

Requesting mozilla firefox alternative or the old IE or a much more comprehensive functionality and reconsideration of the Edge for One please. I would like to be able to use icon to scroll down or up page without having to grab the side bar. I would like
an option to use the One handheld controller to click on and click off the top page quick jump navigation and search history features. I would like a controller function diagram so I know exactly how each button on the controller may interact with the web
page instead of just pressing buttons and guess learning what may or may not be a functional button which controls the page. I would like the developers to re examine the borders and the user experience, clearly something is not working right when the icon
jumps all over screen like it does and then the user has to so carefully move it back and personally discover what tiny portion of that frame is actually usable without accidentally and constantly causing the icon to quick jump elsewhere in a basically unpredictable
fashion. Would like a movement speed control feature for the pointer icon itself, also the acceleration of pointer icon movements feature does not work right either. The speed of the pointer icons movement should be relevant to the screen size and the user
should control if they want that to move fast or slow. Would like a little arrow instead of this circular pointer deal and there should be an icon shape and speed of movement selection option just like on personal computers. Requesting an adblocker utility
because that is how I use a personal computer and the One should be able to mirror the user experience on a pc. 10,000 new apps and Microsoft refuses to supply console users with alternative browsers or an ad blocker? Please revamp the whole thing or give
users more dynamic open marketplace options.

Also a repeat request which remained unresolved; Would please like an option for the One dashboard to look, feel, and function like the 360 dash, that was far superior with more intuitive function and ease of use. I could send the same text and voice message
to multiple parties at once, aka group messages without having to be in a party. It was an excellent networking feature which brought a lot of new friends in without dealing with club or membership challenges. One on one connections, far superior to clubs
and followers and fans. I was in control of accepting or rejecting friends (followers without giving explicit permission is more like international stalking so I simply erased my entire friends list rather than deal with that). I could compare games and
scores against other players much more simply. Microsoft could have simply added a new menu tab to accommodate sharing and streams, they did not have to completely redesign the whole dash to a difficult to navigate hamburger icons menu. Requesting renewed
access to all the old avatar and profile picture and theme options which made the 360 so entertaining and rich, that I previously also paid for many of those. I keep my old 360 offline permanently to assure these awesome features are never removed and my
children use that regularly. It's so great and simple the way the menu works, the ease of changing themes and icons, the simple functionality with linear menus which was not convoluted in some confusing tree framework icon based menu the One now presents
with. Lately we enjoy playing the retro console systems more than the Microsoft systems, they're just so simple and you can play the game without being drawn into all these other irrelevant task managing and function managing time sinks. The best part about
older console systems is they stayed the same and nobody tinkered with their functionality or ease of use. You would put a game in, and it worked. The simplicity of those systems is what made them great. Also, where is the second usb plug in on the One?
Serious design flaws here. If Microsoft would re issue the One and call it the retro 360 version, I'd buy it. Best of both worlds, advanced processing with expanded memory, a simple easy to navigate menu, great friend and messaging controls, unique customizable
themes, hold on everything else the One had to offer and roll everything else back to 360 mode. Add a stream tab in there. It's not rocket science but somehow you guys have found a way to diminish the user experience. If this thing starts playing commercials,
I'm throwing it away.

I hate to break it to you but for the xbox one it has alwyss been edge

Only xbox 360 had ie and the rendwring engine wss discontinued

internet explorer is old, it is no longer supported by the majority of websites. you cant really use IE on the pc either as it just does not work with a lot of site now, software changes and we all have to move on with it.

They wont update to edge on 360 as it probably wouldnt even support it due to the architecture.

There are 3 sites that use Html5 and run on the PC version of Edge that don't or have difficulty on the Xbox Series X Edge. I just want the websites to play the video properly. Even if you say consoles aren't the PC version, it is the mainstream Edge browser, the Developer Teams are the ones that remove or add functionality, this is why I posted this request and concern. This console is more than capable of running the browser like the PC version. I just want the video to run on it properly.
