Requesting home Xbox permission and access again

It should be related to the game permission to access the account information, you probably denied the access to the information when requested as it would have requested it, be sure also to be logged with the same account on the Xbox app, you can see the apps that have permission to access account information here

Yes, and no. It should take about 2 business days for the app to go through and for you to start seeing beta stuff (like the beta tab on the dash) however updates themselves will not appear on any set schedule.
