    Request Xbox Gamertag Released


    I was directed here by Xbox Live support representative "Albert" to request that the gamertag "Adaxus" be freed for use. It appears the account is very old and inactive.

    Get the name of a banned account.

    There is no way to request specific gamertags be released.

    The only way would be for the original owner to change the gamertag or for Microsoft to have another set of gamertags released. There's no way to request a gamertag to be released. Gamertags are also used on other Microsoft services, so even if it isn't
    being used on an Xbox, it could be in use elsewhere.

    Sorry, but support gave you incorrect information. There is no way to request a gamertag. The original owner would have to change the name in order to free it up. The tag system is in use on other Microsoft services, so even if it is not in use on Xbox,
    it could be in use somewhere else.

    You can not request a gamertag be put as inactive.

    Gamertags are used on other services,not just xbox live so you have no way of knowing whether a gamertag is in use or not.

    If a gamertag does not log in for 5 years then it is freed up & made available.
