    Request for Xbox Remote Play Support on Tesla Model Y Browser


    Hello Xbox Insiders community,

    I’m reaching out for help to use Xbox Remote Play on the built-in browser of my Tesla Model Y. Below are the details of my situation and request for feedback or support.

    Background

    • I own an Xbox Series X console and currently use Xbox Remote Play on PC or mobile via the Xbox app. • However, I’ve tried to run Xbox Remote Play on the Tesla Model Y’s built-in browser (Chromium-based) but cannot do so because the official Xbox app cannot be installed on this platform.

    Current Situation

    • I contacted Microsoft Xbox support (https://support.xbox.com/ko-KR), and they informed me that the Tesla browser is not officially supported for Xbox Cloud Gaming or Remote Play. They stated that Remote Play requires the Xbox app to be installed, which isn’t possible on Tesla’s browser. • The support team also noted that the Tesla browser is not listed in the supported browsers for Xbox Cloud Gaming (https://support.xbox.com/ko-KR/help/games-apps/cloud-gaming/supported_browsers). • They recommended submitting feedback on the Xbox Cloud Gaming homepage (xbox.com/play) or posting in the Xbox Insiders Reddit community.

    Request

    • I’d like to know if there’s an official web-based solution to enable Xbox Remote Play on the Tesla Model Y browser (Chromium-based) or if this could be considered for future updates. • I’m currently using a workaround by setting up Better xCloud on a PC and streaming it to the Tesla browser via Parsec or Google Remote Desktop. However, I’d prefer an official solution for a better user experience. • I’ve seen a post on X by @redphx (Better xCloud developer) suggesting that the xCloud website might officially support Remote Play in the future (https://x.com/redphx/status/1887640502713139242). I’d like to inquire if this functionality could work on the Tesla browser as well.

    Additional Information

    • Tesla Model: Model Y (latest software version, as of March 2025) • Xbox Console: Xbox Series X • Goal: I want to play Xbox games using Remote Play directly in the vehicle’s browser.

    Series X name is destined to cause issues, both for sales and legally.

    This reminds me of the Tesla naming scheme conspricy where the vehicle models are the model S, X, and Y which when read together sound like a word (and does a good job of describing the car). I really doubt this will be an issue in the commercial market
    just as there was no issue with the xbox one X.
