Request for a gamer-tag change due to hate / harassment

I spoke with a support member earlier today. I've been being bullied and harassed by some white supremacists. They follow me into games, message me, and some how got my email. Ive blocked them, and reported them, they keep finding me with fake profiles.
I reported the main guys account and i have his gamertag [Mod Removed]. the woman i spoke with told me i could ask for a gamer tag change once i 1- reported the guy 2- got his gamer tag and 3 reported it on here. She said an admin or support
agent (Something against those lines). would contact me after i posted this.

Also i have no idea if i posted this in the right section. So im sorry if this wastes anyones time.

Problem is the information support may give out sometimes does not have any sense or logic. In my experience with the support team I have to be mentally tolerant for them as they think what they are saying is right when it's not. For example the time where
I wanted to update my Xbox Contact e-mail, she was trying to twist my words into it being related to account.live.com when it wasn't. She then asked me to check, though knowing that agent isn't on the right path I just did it anyway. She then asked if I have
verified the primary Alias, so I said that question is invalid to me. She then said no,we have to ask. So I said I don't think you actually have much experience in this accounts field. She said she does kept insisting the question had to be asked. So I said
why would you need to ask me if I verfied a primary account? The account would have to be verified (if it's a third partner account) in order to be the primary account to begin with.I then suggested should I juust go on the Xbox websiteand try update my billing
contact e-mail. She said no it has nothing to do with that, at all. Long story short she wanted to transfer me to a different agent, I said no, left my feedback and went. 5 minutes later I turn on my Xbox 360 go into my account billing and tried changing my
e-mail on that. I checked on the website before entering support chat, and it had updated my contact address. So what I'm really trying to say is the agents do not always know the best answer and send you on a pointless adventure that won't benefit you, and
that is what I feel they have done to you too.

Sorry that you won't get a resolution from Microsoft about your gamertag

It has been over 30 days and I just did what the help department instructed me to do.

 

Sorry, but support is incorrect when it comes to this. Since you've files complaints on them the enforcement team will investigate and take action on them, but if you want to change your gamertag, you will have to pay to change it. There is no way to get
a free change.

Unfortunately, you have been misinformed. There is no way to get a free gamertag change for any reason other then it being the one you can set yourself when you first connect to Xbox LIVE on a new profile. You are doing the right thing by blocking communications
and reporting them. This will send a report off to the PET (Enforcement Team) and they will take the appropriate action necessary once they reach a conclusion to their investigation.

I have to ask why they told me I would be issued a gamertag change than? She told me id get a GT change once they investigated.

 

Unfortunately support is often misinformed when it comes to how the forums work. The enforcement team does issue forced name changes if a gamertag violates the code of conduct. The policy used to be that if you were issue a forced change, you would get to
choose a new game. That policy has changed and you are now given a randomly generated tag and would have to pay to change it to something you want. For some reason support believes that you can just post on the forums and ask for a forced name change and you
would be given one and given a free change, but that has never been the case.

 

I`ve got to agree, You would not be able to choose your new tag without paying.

You can always earn credits on Xbox Live Rewards to purchase your new Gamer-Tag, When you've racked up at least 5,000 Rewards Credits or more, whether on Xbox One or Xbox 360, they'll be converted into your
country's local currency and deposited into your Microsoft account. Then it's off to the Xbox stores, where you can use your money to pick up your favorite Xbox One and Xbox 360 games, Avatar props and more, But in your case a new Gamer-Tag.
