Reputation system

so I receive 2 messages this week saying thanks for making Xbox live a safer place due to me reporting some gamers trying to bully and harass me at the same been being racist homophobic and insulting disabled people,

So I'm thinking I'm being a stand up guy reported these jerks then I get a reputation out of the nowhere that says avoid me now I can't even matchmake on any game so let me get this straight obviously the people I reported got in some trouble that's why
i received a message from Xbox saying thanks then obviously they retaliated and got all there friends to give me bad rep or block me now I have an avoid me reputation,

so what's the point in reporting people if they can just report u back then get all there friends to report you back and then you get an avoid me reputation and then you can't play any games online and then to make matters worse I'm told by Microsoft the
way to get your reputation back up is to play games online which I can't do am i going mad or is this the single most ridiculous system that's been put in place EVER!

What's going on and how do I get my reputation back to we're it was???

as I have done nothing wrong except for report people who deserved to be reported!

For either unsporting behaviour deliberately lagging games and for being racist homophobic and using abusive and vile language but I'm the person who is suffering now for reporting these jerks!

What's the point in having this system in place it clearly doesn't work and people who are doing nothing wrong are also being penalised and there's no one to even be accountable for this happening to innocent people it's a shame and an utter disgrace!

I dont think you understand how things work at xbox or other consoles

When you file a report you don't get congratulated ever

Thank you for your report we will look into it is all you will ever get

All reports are anonymos

You won't even know who gave you bad feedback so how would they know you reported them

Now rep is where you aren't understanding the issue

Rep has nothing to do with enforcement team

Or you reporting

Reputation is how the community perceives you

And yes that is the only way to fix your rep

Play nice with others you can play with the avoid me crowd and stay in party only Games limited to 4 players or open non matchmaking Games like never winter etc

Change your behaviour

I'm not even going to guess how you know the people are reping you

Because if you are doing something you shouldn't then don't do it

And no their friends cant

You would have to msg them or play match against them

Rep system does detect invalid reports

So if you have had no contact they won't count ever

IfIf you want to fill in how you know they know that you reported them

Please fill it in because I can guess but I'm not going to assume

You have to get along with the community not just the pet team

Rep isn't appeal able because it's not an enforcement issue it's how you behave with other player and they decide your rep just like real life

FYi enforcement reports takes weeks not Min's

They don't know for weeks that they have an suspension till it occurs and thry don't get a screen saying oh this player reported you

No it doesn't work like that

People filing false reports will not affect your rep.

You can get your rep up by playing some of the free games like Neverwinter,Star Trek Online,World of Tanks etc. if you can't find players with similar rep on other games.

Ok I'm guessing if you are talking for 30mins then then the issue isn't them but you

No the pet team doesn't tell you action is ever taken that is a violation of ms privacy policy

If you mean Xbox Support tells you good job that's different they wojt have any idea about action taken

They can file a report and it would be valid because you are being a bad communicator

If you are being abused you ignore and lreport and leave

And we are correct about rep

They cannot report you if you don't play or msg you that's not how rep works

The reason why a few hundred have issues isn't because of false reports but the bad sportmanship calling people sore losers shows their behaviour

Remember the community not you judge what your rep is

And the other half is usually because of retailiation

If you are siting wirh the said people unless you are telling them that you are reporting them guess what that's poor communication hence the bad rep

 

I know how the rep system works perfectly well.

Your rep does not go down instantly,it goes down over a period of months depending on your behaviour online.

Getting a thank you message because someone was suspended because of a report you filed has nothing whatsoever to do with it.They are just standard messages sometimes sent out by the enforcement team.

There's over 50 million people on xbox live,if it's as flawed as you think then there's be a lot more people complaining about it.

I really wouldn't take much notice of what you read on another site.

No one here can do anything,only you can improve your rep & you've been told how to do that.

 

It's not a myth.Your rep does not go down instantly although you would not know that as the little semi circle bar thing doesn't show this & that is something that should be changed.

Your rep is something that goes down over a period of time.

You could of had a bad day & go online for a couple of hours & behave like a right idiot when normally you aren't like that, because of your mood,that could affect your rep slightly but it would not go down instantly.
