Reporting fraudulent website and gamertag.

A mass message was sent out by "[Mod Removed]" saying to go to "[Mod Removed]" to see leaked footage of Halo 5 gameplay. This is obviously fake as the sites have no functionality other than
to enter your account information and thereby give your credit card up to these people.

I was not aware just reporting him for a text message was proper for reporting him at attempts of scamming and fraudulent activities.

How long does it take to shut down a fraudulent website and is there anyone official to report the website to? Google searching "instant-points.net" and all the results are scam complaints.

You are not allowed to call out gamertags or post links to fraudulent sites on the forums.

The only way to report someone is via your console

 

I feel as though filing a complaint isn't enough to draw attention to a scam that has earned over $5000 in account information in the past week or two from Xbox Live users. I did what I could so far, given the poor choices we all have for reporting serious
problems.

 

Report Fraudulent Gamertags from the console. Report fraudulent websites to your local authorities.

It's nothing like that.

You don't have to endure any bad behavior online.If you report someone the correct way,via your console,then they will be investigated & the appropiate action will be taken.

 

An alternative way to report a phishing website is through Google:
www.google.com/.../report_phish

 

It would also be good, after you report someone, is confirmation from Microsoft that they have received your report, and at a later date, what they have found, and the action that was taken against that person. instead of not knowing if anything was resolved.

 

They do sometimes send you a thank you message over live if action is taken because of a report you've filed
