Reporting Cheaters / Mod'd Consoles / games

Is this really the only way to do this?

Playing GTA IV today, and this guy starts setting me on fire over and over, then he threatens to freeze my Xbox, and suddenly, it freezes.....hard.

Is this common? I'm a newby. Below is his Gamertag.

[/quote]That's why I stated it it's both MS's AND Activision's job to ensure that the game's exploits are fixed. I believe the responsibility relies on both parties, and not just one. With that said, you cannot make something 100% hack proof. It's just
not possible. Someone will find a way to reverse engineer, decompile, etc.; however, there needs to be some more "safeguards" to slow the amount of exploits that come out.

 

Sadly, it's common. MS really can't do a thing to police their network despite the fact that people pay good money for access. It's pretty pathetic actually that they don't do a better job. It depends a lot on the game and what types of hacks are easy for
that game, but I'm pretty sure GTA4 is one of the worst since it was Rockstar's first attempt at multiplayer. Apparently MS can't even take 2-3 minutes to investigate a report of obvious cheaters. It's just something you have to deal with and when you find
a modder your best bet is just to move onto the next lobby.

 

Lone Dude 70, the most effective approach to this would be to 'File a Complaint' using the consoles tools. One you have done that you will want to go ahead and block, mute and avoid the player in the following order



1: Avoid the player.

2: Mute the player.

3: Block the player.



This will ensure that no further communications between the player and yourself will take place and will make it extremely less likely that you will be put in the same game as him again. You can achieve this by viewing the players profile and following the
appropriate steps. All complaints are looked into and reviewed to great extent, I hope this helps.

The investigation into a report is likely going to take more than just 2 - 3 minutes. All filed complaints are looked at and thorough investigations do commence. It might be worth keeping in mind that just because you may not see action being taken, doesn't
necessarily mean that restrictions or enforcements are not already in place. Voice communications for example, how would anyone know someone was suspended from communicating over the service? I am not a member of the 'Policy Enforcement Team' and I do not
pretend to be, but I do know that the PET do a stellar job to keep Xbox LIVE a safe and sound place to be.
