    Reporting a Ddos attacker


    The gamertag of the ddos attacker is [Mod Removed]. She attacked me and my friends on September 29, 2017 at 12am Cst. This isn't the first time she has attacked us.

    IP Flooding and Denial of Service Attacks

    Phone support is incorrect in this matter. Reporting people on the forums does nothing. Using the dashboard reporting tools, however, does do something. It sends a report to the PET for them to investigate and take the necessary action on. Go to the
    players bio and select File Complaint then follow the instructions. After that Avoid then Block the player so they cannot contact you.

    Finally, DDoS attacks are illegal. If you are the victim of a DDoS attack contact your internet service provider and let them know what happened. They will issue you a new IP address and investigate the cause of the attack.

    Cant connect to Xbox live.

    Suspect XBL is under DDOS attack. downdetector.com/.../xbox-live has several reports from across the US that people can't connect. Meanwhile, MS is reporting that XBL is fine. It may
    not technically be a problem with the XBL servers, but it's still an MS issue if their network can't handle the new internet normal of frequent DDOS attacks.

    As ddos attacks are done via your broadband they are down to your isp to address.

    Report the person via your console.

    As mentioned,you are not allowed to call out gamertags on the forums.

    How do you even report someone?

    Reporting them the way you said is the only way. The report does go to the enforcement team, and they will investigate, and if they find that is what happens, they then proceed with the necessary actions to the account. You stated that you had a ddos attack.
    The thing with that is that ddos attacks attack your isp, not Xbox Live, so their is nothing that Xbox enforcement can do, as it does not affect Xbox. Your ISP is the only ones that can help you with a ddos attack. For more info ddos attacks have a look here
