I totally agree with this GG. Though I'm happy to keep my 360 rolling on tbh. I swapped out my TV with a TV from Thailand that has only one HDMI socket which is difficult when you've got 4 consoles connected

 

If you want to play Xbox 360 games then keep your Xbox 360, MS need to focus on Xbox One games instead of last gen titles.

 

major angry. Ms will not focus on xbox one games until another 50 million consoles are made. They would reach that quicker before it goes extinct if making the darn machine more valuable to current 360 owners.

Why would any company concentrate on making games for 5 million customers vs 50 million. LOL

 

Safleydad my comment about MS focusing on Xbox Games instead was not meaning for MS to ditch the Xbox 360, what I was meaning was MS should put more focus into improving the Xbox One than making backward compatibility, the Xbox One was rushed out IMHO.
If MS ditched 360 games now then I would be gutted.

 

Backward compatibility would be an improvement. No, they'll work on TV and Kinect features that real gamers could care less about instead.

 

You know what would be really awesome (and never happen)? If MS got the backwards compatibility to work and then used the games played section from your Xbox 360 profile to gift you those games for free on your account for the Xbox One so you can start downloading
and playing them. This way, your entire library of games that you've earned achievements for will be yours for as long as the account exists and MS supports it. Even though MS would likely take a loss from it (because it would effectively make keeping the
360 obsolete), they would outright kill the competition right then and there as well. I don't know any gamer who wouldn't fall to their knees in shock if that were to happen.

It would be a welcoming addition that is for sure but I couldn't see it happening until after 360 support stops otherwise a lot of people that use both the 360 / X1 would only use the X1 and there's still plenty of life in the 360 yet. Or at least that's
how I see it.

 

It's not like you'll be able to just insert your 360 game disk and play. Far from it. Everyone will have to rebuy each game or subscribe to a rental service so...not really backwards compatible TBH. Backward compatible won't exist here...sorry.

 

Xbox 360 games being streamed isn't backwards compatibility, as the previous poster rightly put it. Streaming doesn't use emulation, so it's a whole different topic completely.

Proper backwards compatibility is the ability to run your old 360 software on your new machine. If you can't put in your old disc to the Xbox One and play your game, nothing is being emulated.

Technically with streamed games, anything could be streamed, original Xbox games, Xbox 360 games, PC games with controller support, Android games, even games from machines with more powerful hardware than the host machine - even games from rival consoles could
be streamed (but they won't). It's just a video stream, other than your controller inputs, no actual game data would be sent.

Having played with emulators on PCs from the late 90's to present, I know a fair bit about the requirements they need, and I can tell you now, emulating a 360 game at its native resolution or beyond at 60fps is going to be seriously difficult to achieve on
the Xbox One. Don't get me wrong, it would be neat, just don't get your hopes up.

 

backwards comp actually does exist. Try playing Kinect Sports Rivals which seems like it was designed for the original Xbox. There is no way its a step up from Kinect Sports 1 or 2 or any of the very fun Wipeout Games.

There is no way it should not have included boxing, track and every game that sports 1 and 2. If they plan on selling those as upgrades it will be a sorry mistake in the Xbox One world.

To me the whole game is a demo version at best with not enough games.

on topic of this backwards comp. That was the biggest mistake in Xbox history for sure and I am not sure they will recover and ever get enough sales to provide a big enough customer base for game developers.

My guess is that if there was a GTA 6 it would be for xbox 360 for sure.
