Report swearing

Hi

Could you please help me? My boy is playing Plants vs Zombies, but there are a certain gamer that uses very ugly words and keep on swearing at him for no reason. Where do I report him? I don't want him to stop playing just because of one individual who hasn't
got manners.

What happens when you report someone?

As I understand it someone swearing during a multi player game is a reportable offense. But what does that mean if I report someone who is swearing at everyone?

Also behind that link is how to mute, block, and avoid the other player.

Something else worth looking into is setting up parental controls on your kid's account. Such as only allowing him to talk to people on his friends list. Here is info on the Parental Controls

Your son really shouldn't be playing online without parental controls being setup and blocking communication with all players.

 

One other thing that should be mentioned for future playing -- While he is in the lobby in between games, just press the "Y" button and it will mute all players. Swearing doesn't necessarily bother me, but I do this anyway so I don't have to hear 12 year
old kids act like they're bad ***.

 

This is Xbox LIVE and there are tons of different personalities that are clashing with each other which creates negativity!. Reporting one individual who is using bad language toward your son will not stop him/her from using bad language toward another Xbox
LIVE user. Might I suggest turning the voice volume down?. You can do this by hitting the Xbox HOME button on the center part of your controller, then go to Settings, Preferences, Voice...and set Voice volume to 0. This will make it IMPOSSIBLE for him to her
other voices in any online game!. I hope this helps

Just turning the volume down isn't a solution. That only works until the kid figures out how to turn it back up, and doesn't do a thing to stop text messages. They need to do as suggested and setup parental controls to make sure communication is disabled.

 

That's why there are parental controls for child accounts. I believe you can set it where no one but friends can send messages and everyone is muted in game. Just play with the parental controls until you figure it out.
