    Report a Problem via the Xbox OS 10.0.177428.2004


    If you get into the "report a problem" part of the os,

    you're able to put in the subject normally, however, when attempting to put in the problem in the text field, the main text field is not displaying/accepting any special characters or spaces.

    so as you type out the problem, you cannot input any punctuation or put spaces in between words. You can only input one long string.

    I was attempting to type via the controller with the xbox, and via my GS9+ with the xbox app.

    Seeing that you're in the Xbox Insider program as well. Make sure to
    report the problem
    threw the console after you experience the issues. That way if the problem is related to the current OS build you're running, the team can take a look at the possible issue.

    What specific error are you receiving? Also please submit feedback via Report a problem from your console (hold down the Xbox button and select Report a problem from the power menu).

    I've been experiencing this issue as well. I found a temporary walk around for the issue.

    After you 'Summarize the problem', and proceed to fill in the 'Description'. Write out a few words in the description, but then back out of the description field and go back to select the Summarize the problem field once more. Go back into the description
    field again, and you should then be able to put in the spaces and special characters.

    This works as a walk around for me, and I hope it proves the same for you.

    Also remember that if all else fails you can look up issues that the OS may be having at Xbox Insiders and make a mention in any relevant threads

    there used to be a specific forum for insiders/insider builds on xbox.forums... Does that exist anymore in here?

    Unfortunately that specific forum no longer exists. They have us provide feedback threw the Xbox Insiders reddit forum now.

    While there is that option. Reporting the problem with the Report a problem tool threw the console will give them the best data on the issue. Just choose to report the problem under the 'Xbox Insider Hub' app category on the console.

    For more exposure, it doesn't hurt to add a post within the reddit forum as well though.

    ok. the work-around didn't work for me. I can only submit long strings...and I have a feeling that's not going to be read by the xbox once they receive it.

    also, the os build is actually the 1810/1940 preview build …

    That stinks. Sorry to hear it didn't work for you.

    I had this issue on a previous build as well. I submitted a report with a long string of words threw the tool on the issue. They did update the app shortly after and the issue was resolved for a short time. Unfortunately, after a few more builds were released.
    The issue returned.

    I'm currently on build 1810.180826-1940. It's the skip ahead ring. So I believe that we're on the same build. hopefully they get the issue fixed with the next update.

    There's actually an update that was just pushed about an hour ago that I'm about to take. I'll let you know if it resolves the problem on my end.

    Currently the issue seems to no longer effect me when I use the report a problem tool. So that's a good sign. Hopefully it's the same on your end KrissrocK.

    I may not be able to check until tomorrow but when I walked by my Xbox earlier, I saw my external hard drive lights going, so maybe it was doing the update then. I'll report back as soon as I can
