Replacing unrecognized disc and previous game progress

Hello gamers, would someone please enlighten me. I have The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim disc it has many surface scratches and has developed a small crack and as such is now unrecognizable. My question is if I purchase the Legendary Edition what happens
to my progress? I was level 70 and seriously do not want to have to start from scratch. I have been given conflicting answers elsewhere and need to know if my progress will transfer over and be compatible with the newer Legendary Edition.

Any help or advice would be welcome. TFT

Unrecognized Disc

I have rage and the disc 2 will not read it says unrecognized disc I replaced the game and did the same thing still disc 2 unrecognized

Unrecognized Disc for all of the games and DVD too.

Unless the legendary edition has a different set of achievements, for the main game, than the original disc,then your progress will not be affected.

How exactly did the disk get so scratched?????

Believe it or not, it's the same game with DLC added.... The save file should work fine.

@Miami - I think he broke his MW3 disc - not his XBOX.

Yes - it will still continue with your previous progress. Game info is saved to the hard drive. It's not written back to the MW3 disc.

Seriously, wondering what might be the reason. Because, initially it worked, then all of a sudden it said unrecognized disc. Bought another one which also gave the same "unrecognized disc".
