  1. Replacement Xbox One failed, very unhappy

I have a day one Xbox One, and always have enjoyed it up until recently. Back on a March 1 the disc drive failed and would no longer pull discs in. I called support and they setup an Advanced Exchange, and also gave me a free game, which was nice
    of them to do.

March 7 I received the replacement console, that night I setup it up and something did not seem right. When I would choose things it took up to a minute or more for it to respond. So say for example I choose settings, TV, and then The Store. It
would after like a minute finally go to all that stuff, so it seemed like a major lag. Sorta like you were using an old outdated computer. I thought well maybe its just a glitch and when I restart it will go away.

After a restart I got stuck on the Xbox One start up green screen, then it would sometimes switch to just a black screen (like it is right now the whole time I type this) and stay there. So I called support again and they told me to use the "Offline
System Update Diagnostic Tool". Which I did several times on my own but it didn't work, called support again and they helped me do it but still would not work.

So then I call again tonight and ask is there is anyway I can have a refund. The lady tried her best to make that happen but, it looks like it won't. So I have my first Xbox One console (with a dead disc drive) that Fed Ex should pick up on Monday,
and the replacement which fails to get to the Home screen. My only choice is once my first Advanced Exchange clears is to do another one and try for yet another replacement. However once I do get my next replacement and hopefully it actually works, I am
taking it to Gamestop and trading it in. And going with the PlayStation 4.

I am not mad with the people at support I called , they did the best they could to try to help. Maybe Microsoft should try to test these consoles more, before they rush them out the door. Oh and one more thing my broken replacement console is a refurbished
one. Thats nice spend $500 on a brand new console and get a refurbished one to replace it. Thats really fair and makes alot of sense, don't it ?

    :)

    Hey there SorryImSoAce,

Sorry to hear the update happened while you we're playing the game. Forced updates tend to happen when the console or game hasn't been updated before it's required to do so. To clarify, ARK is in a Game Preview state and is prone to updates on a regular
basis. It's also common for you to see updates often if you are in the Xbox One Preview program.

One way to alleviate updates so that they're more seamless is to have the console in an Instant On mode and allow for Auto Updates. This page will show you the different Power Modes and how to turn those features on.

    Power Modes on Xbox One

You can also manually check for updates by going to Settings > System > Console info & updates. If an update is available for the console, you'll see the option to update there. You'll also want to reach out to the ARK support team for more support since
the game is in a preview state. They'll have the best information on any updates for the game as well.

Hope that helps, please feel free to create another thread if you have any other support related issues!

For those of you that know Ark: Survival Evolved you will know everything takes a very long time.

I just spent 1.5 hours incubating an egg then another 1.5 hours feeding it tons of meat (which also took ages to gather) then all of a sudden ''It's time to update!'' with no other option but to just do it. My 450mb update stuck at 0% and eventually went to
1%, meanwhile my friend who downloaded it instantly (on a slower internet package than me) just got back into the server and messaged me that the baby I just spent over 4 hours preparing for and hatching is dead.

This is a complete joke and I am so annoyed right now. I didn't spend over £400 on a games system for you to dictate when I can and can't play, what's wrong with a 5 minute warning or like a 5 minute 'snooze' button?

So mega annoyed at this I have tried so hard to keep from swearing! Utterly stupid and useless system to push out little vanity updates to make some stupid button a different colour or something! Not happy at all.

    Hi there.

To cancel your xbox LIVE account you will have to call the xbox support line for your region, they should also be able to refund you your money for the subscription that has just renewed as well.

    Hey there Franklin Maya,

Sounds like a lot has happened in the last few months. While we're not able to issue or offer any refunds here on the forums (you'd need to speak with the chat or phone team about that). We're more than happy to assist with any sort of troubleshooting that
we can. To clarify though, were you able to get your controller replaced so that it's working for you now? What about the headset and the downloaded game? What happens when you try to use Group Chat?

If you can provide some more details we'll do our best to help!

xbox one headset socket on controller not working

Seems that the xbox1 controllers are much lower quality than the xbox 360. Xbox should recall them and replace good quality controllers. Looking on line I can see many unhappy gamers because the button/ joy sticks controller drifts. The head phone jacks
stop working within a couple months. Units are expensive to purchase, and you get the same low quality new controller that has the same issues. Very unhappy with microsoft!
