I see that you mentioned that you're trying to redeem on a friends account. Have you verified that all of the steps provided on this thread have been followed on the account you're trying to redeem on? Please post back from the account that is experiencing
this issue so we can be able to assist further. Without the account that is trying to redeem the code, we won't have the necessary information to look into this further.

ok, my friend do not want to mess with it anymore... put the code to a public forum so someone can take it and try to use it.

Is your account set for Hungary (not just the website)?

However if you set your language to us it won't work

Account region

Physical region

Language and console has to match

When we say account region you must follow the links provided as your region on your console has no bearing on your account region

if the codes are universal why can't I redeem it?

redeem itself should be possible regardless any region settings then...

both account and physical region is hungary. language can be set to english only, no hungarian language yet despite there is a hungarian region, officially (not a problem for me just saying).

I know the difference between xbox360 region / xbox one region / website region / store region etc - ALL set to hungary. Still the code I got does not work.

(to be honest it is my friend's account as I have the game already... I want to redeem it on his account)

I guess I got USA redeem codes somehow ... not sure.
