Replaced hard disk and all games are greyed out

I changed my games hdd to an ssd. I cloned the hdd outside of windows using a duplicator. The new disk had the same name and letter when added to the pc.

Everything is fine except the Xbox game pass games are greyed out on the start menu and 'apps and features' in the settings . Inside the game pass app it does not show that I have any games installed (only the EA games are shown). I also cannot re-download them. I need to uninstall them first ( from the "apps and features" in the settings.

I have a lot of games and it will be very annoying to have the download nearly a terrabyte of games.

    :)

Replaced hard disk and all games are greyed out

    Hi,

Unfortunately virtually all Windows Store Apps and games are installed to encrypted folders called WindowsApps. On the C:\ drive this is located in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps.

These folders use a special type of encryption and can not be moved\copied\cloned to another PC build or hard drive outside of the current Windows install. This means if you reinstall Windows 10 from a full system backup as you've done, the games in that drive will no longer work.

You won't be able uninstall these titles via the usual route of the 'Apps and Features' as your cloned Windows 10 can't see them.

Personally, I have only had experience deleting an old wayward WindowsApps folder on a secondary or external drive. Needing to take ownership and delete the WindowsApps folder on a current Windows install could be troublesome. Take a read of this forum link with some guides. It should help.

You may need to create a Linux Ubuntu USB boot drive to fully delete the folder as Linux does not care about protected Windows folders.

    How do discs work?

Disks on X1 will have an unlock key that will allow you to download the game and then install it on your console.

    .

PS4 will probably have the game content all in the disk and allow installation to your console, pretty much like it is currently in PS3 and 360.

    .

Of course the X1 has a 500GB Hard Drive that you cannot replace, meaning you will probably run out of space quickly. The 500GB Hard Drive on the PS4 is interchangeable however.

Xbox ONE controller disconnects, sync, movement issues

I've tried a hard reset, factory reset, replacement Xbox from MS, 3 different controllers.

Same behavior wired or wireless, when I can get it to sync wirelessly, which is very rare.

It's not the game either, happens with other disks in the drive.

    All cables re-seated etc.

I bought a new PS on Amazon, as it's the only thing that hasn't been replaced. Will try it this evening.

If that doesn't work, I'm all out of ideas.

Xbox One is reading all my discs but one.

Uninstall and reinstall disk m8,and hard reboot inbetween,if that dont work, replacement :), the insurance for £1 on each xb1 disk is well worth it.
