  1. Repeated Logins Required to XBL

This has been an ongoing issue with the XBox One for me. There is only one account on the console (mine), there are no guest privileges, no family settings, and I'm the only person who uses the system. Because I have the cable box piped through the XB1,
it's on more often than not. Several times a day, I am required to re-login to XBL (including putting my password in). The Kinect never recognizes me, and even if I "re-train" the camera, within hours I still have to re-login. The Kinect position never
moves, and I always sit in the same place. On my old 360 (which sadly gave up the ghost about a year and a half ago), it would log me automatically and keep me logged in for however long the session was.

Not the end of the world, but aggravating nonetheless. Is there a way of staying logged in without having to go through this routine several times daily? I appreciate the security aspect here, but this is becoming an annoyance. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    :)

Not sure if this will help, but when I installed Skype, I was asked if I wanted to merge my Skype and XBL logins, have you done/tried that?

  3. Parent Required Login

Actions Prior - I signed into xbox.com and microsoft.com on my ios device.

(Not sure what affect this has on me logging in but something im sure)

Hello! I am having an issue in which I choose my xbox account to login on my Xbox One. It buffers for a second then requires me to choose a parent account to be able to sign in to my account. The thing is, I am the parent account. So, once I log in to the
"parent account", It then buffers for a few seconds then asks the same request, "We need your mom, dad or other responsible adult to give permisisons for you to finish setting up."

(I have an automatic login on my xbox one, so when i select my profile it doesnt require password)

But this time it asked for my microsoft account password. Then procceeds to ask for parent.

I can successfully log in to other accounts and modify settings but not my own.

    Help!!!

    Hey there StarGeezerTim!

Sorry to hear about the issue. Have you set up your Xbox One to automatically sign you in? Let's start by setting that up. Follow the steps below:

    • Press the Menu button on your Xbox One controller and select 'Settings'.
    • In the Settings menu, select 'Sign-in, security & passkey', which will be on the left side of the Settings menu.
    • Select 'Instant sign-in' for your gamertag.
Post back and let us know if that helps! Repeated Logins Required to XBL :)

  5. Yes Mister Beep, I have Instant sign-in" turned on. Additionally, I have it set to Remember Password, sign in with Kinect, no pass-key required. Just figured I'd try to head off some future questions and get closer to a solution.

Thank you very much for responding. Looking forward to getting this resolved. Thanks.

    Thanks for checking that!

Next we will turn on the required password setting, sign out, and then change it back to not requiring a password. Follow the steps below to do that:

    • Select 'Change my sign-in & security preferences' in the 'Sign -in, security & passkey' menu.
    • In there, select the 'Lock it down' on the far right and sign out.
    • Sign back in, navigate back to the Change my sign-in & security preferences' menu and then change it back to 'No barriers'.
    • Sign back out and see if it prompts you to sign in.
Post back and let us know if that helps! Repeated Logins Required to XBL :)

  7. Just followed your instructions, will post back to let you know how it works (it will typically log me out after anywhere from 1 to as many as 12 hours later.) I suspect it has (or had) something to do with the Kinect recognition. I essentially had the
same settings as "No Barriers" but it was a custom setting instead of one of the pre-mades.

Anyway, I'll keep you posted one way or the other within the next day or so. Thanks again for your help.

  9. Seems to be working so far, Mister Beep, thank you. Is there any way to customize the settings in such a way that it requires a one-time login (say when you first power on the device), but thereafter keeps you logged in?

Reason I ask is this: A few years ago I had another console (which I won't mention by name, but rhymes with "say nation free") stolen during an apartment move and because it automatically logged me in without password, the "liberators" of my console actually
played games and earned trophies...er...sorry, Achievements... while on my account. Thankfully they never tried to buy anything online, and I was able to remotely "log off" the account, but never did trace the bandits down. So a one-time log-in with password
to verify it's me would be fine, and then keep me logged in during that session (that is, so long as the console is powered on.)

Sorry to hear about that, that's no fun! You cannot set up a one time password, but an alternative you can try is setting up a passkey for your Xbox One. This is a quick password you can type in on your Xbox One controller to gain access to your console.
You can find that in the 'Sign-in, security & passkey' menu. Repeated Logins Required to XBL :)
