Repeated failure of the Xbox 360S

A little background on my issue: A year ago, I bought an Xbox 360 Slim after my old release 360 went red light. I didn't have much time to use it back then, so it was largely ignored until about 6 months ago. At that point I played for about a week with
everything working fine, then suddenly I got a red light on my power brick and it shut down. Since then, I have sent the console back and fourth with Microsoft 3 times. I have gotten 3 new consoles and I have gotten 4 new power supplies. Every single time
the same issue arises. I have tried plugging it into different outlets, different rooms and nothing has fixed the issue.

I just received another refurbished 360S and power supply today and once again I have the same issue. I have even tried plugging it in without the kinnect. to see if less power demand would fix the issue.

My question is this; Is there an inherent flaw in the 360S or power brick that causes them to not work? Is there any known fix to this?

Frankly, I've invested hours online and on the phone with Microsoft and it has been absolutely useless. It takes weeks at a time to get the parts back and with the power brick, I have to pay for shipping. I've lost all faith in the Xbox support and I believe
it is time for me to simply walk away from Microsoft as a company. After 5+ years as a Xbox Live Gold member and 8 years as an Xbox 360 owner I've been pushed to my limit with the poor hardware and painfully redundant support (every single conversation on
the phone or online they say the exact same thing verbatim). My last ditch effort is to see if this forum can help in anyway that the support staff clearly couldn't.

    Thanks for any help.

    :)

    Repeated initial update failure

    Hi,

My nephew got a used Xbox One for Christmas however we have been unable to complete the update after initial set-up of the console. We have tried a factory reset and followed it with a wireless update on numerous occasions and also have put the update on
an external hard drive and tried the update from there. On each occasion it reaches 76% or so and says it is going to restart. However the Xbox turns off and does not restart. We need to remove the power cable for 30 seconds in order to get the console to
switch on again. We have received an error E101 message on a couple of occasions, but this has been rare. Does anyone have any solutions to this, as we have one very disappointed 10 year old at the moment?!

    Many thanks

Which System Will Get Better Reviews, Xbox One or PS4?

Well, I think it will be whichever console has the lower failure rate! Seriously. I hope we don't get repeats of the 360's RRoD or the PS4's YLoD

There is no design flaw. If I had to venture a guess I'd say you have the PSU in a bad spot and it's over-heating and damaging the unit.

It is in a well vented area and the power brick is turning red within seconds of starting up the console. Before the Xbox logo can finish it's little cycle up intro screen, it has already turned red and shut down. I've tried it in several locations, all
of which have proper ventilation. So, ventilation is not the issue. As I mentioned in the initial post, the really odd thing is that the primary location I use for it worked properly for a little while. It worked for years with the original 360 model, too.

    360 or next gen ?

Haha I'm on Xbox number 12... I repeat that's 12 Xbox 360's since 2007 (that number include's under warranty repairs). 3 to RRoD and the rest to disc reading failure. The original Xbox I never replaced. This is why I'm actually glad the Xbox One is a
brick, at least they're trying to prevent a repeat.
