  1. Repair or replace?

I have an older out-of-warranty 360 model that doesn't function properly anymore, I am trying to use the support site, but I am unsure of what exactly I am agreeing to do.

The $159 service order, is that to replace my console or send it in for repair?

    :)

  3. Normal repair or advanced repair?

    Which is better?

I personally have a xbox one with a faulty GPU (almost all games have bad display and show white squares, circles, and dots when in use). What would be my best plan of action?

I'm not exactly sure, but I think you will get a replacement refurbished model of the kind of 360.

I would actually suggest just upgrading to the latest Slim 360 E console, they are really great and will truly be an upgrade for someone like you who has been using an older model. I couldn't recommend it enough and where I live $159 is nearly 3/4 of the
    cost of a new one.

That's the price to replace it or the part inside that's broken. If it's a phat console, it will probably be replaced with a refurb console, if the part cannot be fixed...which is pretty much everything inside the console.

  6. The issue I have been having is overheating. I've looked online, cleaned the outside the best I can, but all signs seem to point towards the system having dust trapped inside.

Well, you only have two options. Repair it, or replace it... The console is old, so the thermal conductivity inside probably isn't the best. An authorized tech (Microsoft) should be able to fix it for you, although for something simple like that, the price
is sky high to say the least.

    Repair or replace?

I would definitely consider replacing the model. The price you listed is a little better than half the cost of a new one here in Canada.

Not only will you get a better functioning console but you'll have a one year warranty with it as well. If you get one with a hard drive be sure to get an official Xbox transfer cable to transfer your content from the old drive to the new drive (If you
are currently using an S or E console then you don't need the cable because the drive is compatible - if you are using an FAT console then the cable is required to transfer).

Be sure to only use an official transfer cable as 3rd party cables have been known to ruin both hard drives and repairs are not supported for 3rd party issues.
