Reoccurring Sound Issues

A few weeks ago I purchased a game stop refurbished Xbox one s. Everything was working perfectly until a little over a week ago, where I lost all sound in games and parties, but not the home screen. This was solved with a simple hard restart.

Now, however, I have lost complete audio from my system. I have trouble-shooted seemingly every setting. My temporary solution to this is to stream my xbox to the PC app and plug my headphones into my computer. I cannot use a mic with this.

What can I do to solve this? If there are no solutions here I will be returning the system to gamestop.

Thank you for contacting Forum support.

Sorry to hear there is an issue with receiving sound from the console.

It's possible that the settings may have been converted or changed when moving from one device to another (changing HDMI/DVI).

Go to settings:

Display and sound
Video Output
Video Fidelity and Overscan
Under the option "Display" set it to HDMI

It may be set to Auto or DVI but if it's already set to HDMI then change it to another setting then go back to HDMI.

Ps: I have use two controllers and four headphones, with and without the sound mixer.

Normally I would suggest contacting billing support on this issue being that it is a reoccuring issue from the sounds of it, however there is currently a server outage with purchasing content which could be causing issues at the moment.
