Rented movie issue

I just rented a movie on my Xbox 360 and it won't turn off the closed captions. I've gone to the movie settings by hitting A, and there are Audio & Subtitle options, which show an option for 'None' but when I select it, nothing happens and the movie continues
to play with closed captions. In fact, none of the options in that menu work (e.g. French Subtitles).

I can't seem to find a real person to try to talk to at Xbox / Microsoft, and the automated system can't even comprehend what I'm trying to say.

Please, somebody help, I just want to watch Spiderman.

If your using Xbox movie app:

Note Unlike a movie that you buy, you must view a movie that you rent on the device you rented it for (for example, the Xbox 360 console, a computer, or a Windows Phone)

However I know Microsoft allowes you watch rented movies via a app called Movie Anywhere. If you purchase a movie on your account and if was produce by a movie studio they team up with>>>you can watch your rented movies there. I used this app in the past

There was a service outage yesterday for many items on the marketplace. It's possible this was due to that outage.

I am having the same issue but slightly different. For the past 2 months we have been renting James Bond movies every week. As of yesterday, the rental option for all of them has disappeared. I can buy but not rent, this is also true for movies that I
rented prior -- no rental option. Wondering what has happened.
