Renewing xbox live with Microsoft points

    Renewing xbox live with Microsoft points


    I have $60 worth of Microsoft points and for some reason when I try to renew my xbox live using my Microsoft points I get a error. Any way I can fix this?

    So...can you really not buy Xbox Live with Microsoft points?!

    There would probably be a lot of people renewing their Xbox Live for free if you could use your rewards points to renew it. I bet Microsoft prefers to get actual money instead. I also recently found out you can't buy hardware from the Microsoft Store with your points, it's really limited.

    Date of purchase: 01/21/12

    Promo item: 400 Microsoft Points

    I have checked all e-mails associated with my account. I haven't recieved any with 400 Microsoft Points.

    no changes on live id or email accounts

    It's not possible to purchase Live with points/your Microsoft Account balance. Gold can only be purchased via credit card/Paypal or by purchasing a prepaid card in a store.

    Smwutches 1s 100% correct the ONLY way to buy Live is with a Live prepay card or using a form of electronic payment like credit card or paypal. MS points are ONLY for purchases in the market place (games, videos, add on content/DLC for games etc).
