Renewal of Gaming Licenses

Gday, im a user of xbox and have been over a many of years.

I purchased Red Dead Redemption mtption 2 back when it came out in australia, a while back i had to delete it to make room for other things on my xbox until recently i decided to come back to it.

The bad thing is that i've inserted the 1st disc out of 2 and it downloads till about 2GB until it fully stops and gives me the "installation stopped" prompt. I then tested the 2nd disc and it downloads fine, even i tried another game, downloads all fine
as well. i have contacted rockstar support already and they assumed it could possibly be that my game license may be expired and said that i should contact Microsoft Support about it.

Is there any way you could possibly restore that game license for me? I have purchased rdr2 on a disc, i do have proof of purchase but its a little faded due to its time being in its case for safekeeping, i dont know what else to do. And that is what Rockstar
Support told me to do, i have photo proof on what they've asked of me.

Games are not delisted for fun, music and car licenses expire. The cost of renewing intellectual property in a game like this is far above any revenue it would generate. This is why these licenses are rarely renewed.

Uninstall the game from your Hardrive and start from the beginning. Give the disk a good clean with a lint free cloth. From the inner circle to the edge carefully. Put the disk back in and see does it fully install.

Please let us know if the soloutions mentioned by the others worked for you or if you get some New errors. Normally a Stopper Installation on a disc should be an issue with the disc itself or the cache.

Thanks for posting here on the Xbox forums. Rockstar asking you to get Microsoft to restore the license to your disc game is an odd request. When it comes to disc games, the license is on the physical disc itself. Meaning Microsoft would not have anything
to restore.

If you haven't already, go ahead and cancel he installation completely. Then follow these steps to install the disc in offline mode :

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select System > Settings, and then select
Network.
Select Network settings, and then select Go offline.
Power cycle your console after you go offline
After your console restarts, insert the disc and then let it install.

If this works, you would need to go back online to install any updates needed.

Hello, i tried all of the above and with no success, i may have to purchase a new copy of red dead 2 thats what my conclusion is. Thank you all for helping
