"Renew Xbox Gold $5/Month"

To whom this may concern,

I stopped the auto-renew of my Xbox Live Gold day before last. It's due to expire on the 24th of this month. Today I log on and there is an advertisement for $5/Month for a year with Titan Fall as the picture. Doesn't say anything about owning Titan Fall
by the way. But when I went to click the button to choose the $5 a month thing (yes I know its the same price as an annual membership) it makes me try to buy a full year membership. The reason I want the month to month is because $60 is a big hit on your account
when you support a family, own 3 xboxs, and have 2 Gold accounts in the house. So spreading it month to month I thought wouldn't be a bad idea. Anyways. I called Xbox Support and they told me "That's the catch to that membership, you have to buy the annual".
I then told them that this is false advertising, making people think they can get month to month for the same price as an annual membership. It should be the same amount anyways in my opinion. I pretty much got called stupid and was told to read the fine print.

Ad and fine Print read as follows:

"Renew Gold Today just $5/Month for 12 Months*"

"*Offer valid only through this in-dash signup with credit card (pre-paid token not eligible). Membership auto-renews to an annual membership at the then-current price (subject to change), unless cancelled. Limit 1 per account. Additional subscriptions/requirements
apply for some Xbox Live features."

Looks like it should have been what I thought it said. And for this reason, if I can't get this resolved by Microsoft, my 3 Xboxs will become Playstations and my 10 year tenure (me) and my 5 year tenure (my wife) will become no more. I felt like Microsoft
doesn't care for even the people who have had Xbox Live since pretty much the beginning. If you can't care for the ones that were in it for the long haul then who will you cater to? The email associated with my account doesn't get checked. If someone from

I have never bought 12 months of gold online.

i buy the offer on the dashboard when it pops up and instantly turn off auto renew.

That is not false advertisement. It's what you basically pay monthly if you buy the annual 12 month membership. Breaking it down monthly is $5.

 

I know that. That is what I was told but when you write it out like that on the advertisement it is very very deceiving as to what the deal actually is. So it is indeed a form of false advertising.

it is not false advertizing it is to show you that you would be paying the EQUIVALENT of 5 bucks a month if you buy annually instead of monthly which would add up to $119 a year apposed to $59 a year which divided by 12 is about $5 a month so there is no
false advertising you just misunderstood it.

 

It is not false advertising, at all. Basically, it's saying if you spend a little more now, you'll actually be saving money.

 

I agree with you it is false advertisement I've done it before on my Xbox 360 where I paid $5 a month for 12 months I've done it for 2 years now but for some reason on the Xbox One it doesn't work and it makes you pay the full amount

 

Oh and by the way usually when you pay five bucks a month they take out the tax as well which is $0.39 so it would be $5.39

 

you could NEVER pay 5 a month you could only pay the 10 a month or what it cost for 3 months or the amount for the 1 year, and 5.39 a month is still way cheaper than 9.99. for future reference do not bump/reply to 2 year old threads thanks.
