Removing myself as a child account

I've been stuck with this problem for about an hour now. All I want to do is change my Xbox settings but I can't do that. The URL of the page it redirects me to when I try to edit my settings is "https://support.xbox.com/xbox-one/security/error-child-trying-to-access-settings".
The thing is that my age checks out (born in 2000) and I'm not part of a microsoft family. I can't figure out the problem!

Please help, this is getting on my nerves!

    :)

If you delete a family member from a family does it do anything?

I almost removed myself from my family as I should not be in it and I can remove myself, but it said that if I remove myself it would delete any access to Xbox services and the Xbox, is there another way you can get rid of child accounts like changing your age or something, and if you can change your age, how?

    Problem With My Account

When I removed myself from the family and added myself back in because I thought that it was the problem, I was changed into an adult but I still have the same problem with not being able to play multiplayer.
from what I understand from reading up on this, promoting the child account in the Family in the way you did does not promote the child account on Xbox Live.

check to see if that option is available in the settings.

    hope this helps

Microsoft account locked out of multiplayer due to being made a child account in a random family.

Hi, my issue is that I have been assigned to a family with someone I don't know, so it's impossible to get removed from the family. I must be a child account since I can't access any multiplayer games or remove myself from the family.

Can't change privacy settings/use other features

You can remove a child by either promoting it (over 17) from the child account's Account Management, or by removing the parent/child relationship entirely from the parent account.
