  1. Removing my son from a 'family'

I want to enable my son to download games on the Xbox one, so I tried to make him apart of my family so I could change his 'child account' settings. When I tried to add him, it said he was already apart of a family and he would need to be removed from that
family before joining a new one. The problem is, his other family is him and another account that we can't access so he can't leave that family? Help???

    :)

Prevent Child from Leaving the Family

Is there a way to disable a child from removing him or herself from the family?

My teen logged into his child account, removed himself from the family, and created a fake parent email, effectively losing all of the screen time limits we set for him, while we were none the wiser.

YES, I do see the bigger issue of instilling a sense of integrity in my son so that he will respect our screen time limits and resist hacking these restrictions, but perhaps Microsoft could make it a little less tempting for kids to do so by removing this
    option from child users.

Creating a child account is useless when the child can remove him or herself from the family.

    Please advise

  3. Removing family members from a suspended family account?

Hi, didnt realise auto renewal was automatically put on, came to renew in Feb but the card expired so not able to renew. Dont want a family membership any more and son (not at home now) wants to get a gold membership but he cannot get into account to leave,
it says account suspended and provide new details. The payment was to come from me not my son so why is it blocking his account?

Is it a case of all members blocked until the main one pays up? a bit unfair on those not responsible for the payment in the first place. In the UK and call centre closed til tomorrow just wanted an idea before I call them.

That's not good at all. If your son remembers the email address for the parental account but can't access it he should try contacting either phone support (1-800-469-9269 in North America) or the email provider for more assistance.

How do I make my child the adminstrator on his laptop in Microsoft Family?

    Thanks for the reply.

I am using the Microsoft Family Website and I am logged in on my account as the family organzier, the only family organizer our family account has ever had.

Unless they are hidden somewhere very obscure, I cannot find where I can give my son administrator access to his own computer for school. It feels as if there are a layer of controls that are being hidden from me, the parent, for my own family account.

When I try to just remove him from the family account, I get the following message:

You can't remove [Son] from the family group

Family members under statutory age need an adult's consent to join a family group. Only the adult that granted consent for [son] can remove this family member. Ask the family organizer who granted [son] consent to remove [son] from the family group.

This is pretty infuriating and starting to make me really wish I never started the family account in the first place.

Trouble with switching child account back to original (re: proper) Family group ...

I figured it out ... Logging into the Microsoft website using my "gmail" credentials, I navigated to the Family Group.

I had to "remove consent" for my son FIRST, and then I was allowed to remove my son from the "gmail" family group. Logging back into my "hotmail" Family Group, I was able to add him back easy peasy.

Xbox Insider Hub on child's account, unable to unenroll anymore

Got this working by removing my son from the family and logging into his Microsoft account and making him 25 years old.

Unable to "Grant Allowance" to another family account

My dash doesn't even give me the option to give points to my son. Only option I see is remove from family.
