    Removing Age Restrictions/Filters


    Hi, I'm on Windows 10 using the Xbox App to download cross-platform games to play with my Xbox friends. But all mature rated games are completely filtered and aren't even visible through search.

    I'm 16 years old and my parents allow me to play m-rated games, as a lot of parents do with their teenagers. Why is Microsoft enforcing these strict rules? I can't even try out the Minecraft RTX Beta because you have to be 18 to access the Xbox Insider Program.

    Is there any way I can remove these restrictions/filters? Possibly connecting my account to an adult account and allowing mature content?

    I think the Hulu app should work with the family setting's Age Restriction filter.

    Hi Adam!

    Please go to https://family.microsoft.com/ and click on his account. Please check if screen time limit is enabled - try to disable it. In Content filters > Apps & games, try to select "Any age" or have you already selected that? Did you mean about that "Content restrictions - Apply age filters - allow all content"?

    As far as I know you can not remove age restrictions until the birthdate attached to the account is of age.

    Thanks again. Sign in and out didn't work. He's just tried to play among us online and got a message saying he couldn't and parent needs to customise xbox privacy settings in manage family members but I've done all that already?????
