Remove Multiplayer Requiring Xbox Live Gold

Picture this: You buy a really cool game. You play the game and finish every single player game mode in a breeze. When you go on to play multiplayer you see that you have to pay even more, for something which (for online playing) is a tad bit over priced,
making the game less enjoyable. What's the point? If I can play online on PC with the same games without buying a single penny just to play online, then why can't you do it here? I find it pointless for multiplayer to require XBOX Live Gold. I am not saying
that you should remove it, since it has much more benefits, just make multiplayer accessible for normal XBOX Live users. There is no need to pay to win here. (P.S: If this is in the wrong forum, please tell me)

What Happened to Free Memberships?

The multiplayer requiring Gold, this I do know; but while playing a regular game in single player, you can still use Xbox Live Free?

Thanks, that's a useful list that I didn't know existed.

As the poster above confirmed, Gold isn't needed for BBC iPlayer or to rent/buy films from Xbox.

And of course then we get into the whole subscription debate. To me, it's simple:

Want a media streaming device? Get an Apple TV.

Want an offline/subscription free console? Buy a PS4. (Or a Wii U)

Want a connected, multiplayer and "does everything" console? Buy an Xbox One and a Gold sub.

 

It's not pay to win.Pay to win is something completely different.

It's also not overpriced.

The price of a years gold hasn't changed since xbox live started,unlike the online service of another well known console.

You can pick up a years gold for peanuts if you shop around.

Speaking for myself I know if a game has multiplayer before I buy it,not after finishing the single player side of it.

 

Then that is why it is stupid, if single player is boring, what is the point if you have to pay even more just to play online? And even though the other well known console thing is even worse, doesn't make it right to do it here.

You are not being forced to pay for a gold subscription.

It's about 0,09 pence per day for a years sub.That's great value if you ask me.

You do realise the gold sub is used to maintain the servers etc.?

If it was free then live would be a shambles & people would be moaning about how bad it is.

It's not like they've just started charging for live.The fee has always been there.

If you don't want to pay to play online then get a gaming P.C.

If you are finding single player boring then perhaps you need to be more picky about what games you buy.
