Remove id number from gamertag after renaming old account

The gamertag won't be able to be removed from the system.

If it is anything but a hotmail.com or live.com you can rename the windows live id to anything (dummy account works) at account.live.com

That'd be the only way I could recommend getting your email off.

that doesn't allow you to use your acheivements or gamesaves

there is alot easier way to do that

call xbox support and remove creditcard info

that maintains your security and only removes personal info

to start an account over again if you want your name you rename your current gamertag to free up the name

or just start a new account with the different gamertag but your DLC and gamesaves are still linked to the old account

I logged in to dedicated tuna on web browser because I got the emails mixed up, I changed the ID on the console. Well, if I rename + move an account to other ID, and the old ID still got the profile what wasn't renamed. I'm not sure when the changes were
made, but I think the name change was before ID change.

Since you chose an already existing Gamertag name, the system assigned you a Gamertag from the "new" gamertag system, where you can choose existing Gamertags, but will get a number attached to it.

However, since you changed your old AlanElebe account to something different AFTER you created the new AlanElebe#9381, the system won't allow you to change to the "simple" AlanElebe, as you already HAVE the AlanElebe account in the new system with the automatic
number.

First of all: I'd recommend you try using your old account (especially if you have bought stuff with the old account, and have had certain game progress already). That way you can get backwards compatible games on the Xbox One for free that you already own
on the old account.

As for getting the "number-less" AlanElebe again, I don't know if that is possible now, since you claimed AlanElebe with the new Gamertag format.

You could try to rename the new AlanElebe#9381 to something completely different (like NotElebe#1234), and then try to name your old account back to AlanElebe. But since I don't know if Microsoft gives you a number-less Gamertag when you switched to the
new format already, you might now have lost the ability to get your number-less AlanElebe ever again.

I'm trying to re-associate my old Microsoft account (with a Google address) with my current gamertag. I did learn that the old account was indeed associated with a free Silver gamertag for reasons I cannot remember. In order to make the switch to the old
account, I renamed the old account with a new email address, in hopes that I could somehow reclaim the old address. However when I tried to rename, I received the error: 'email isn't available'. What happened to it? Why can't I reclaim it???
