Remove account from Xbox 360

I am getting rid of the Xbox 360 since I am now gaming on Xbox One, but I want to delete my profile so that nobody has access to my account when they start up the system. So which delete option do I choose so that no one can access my account without deleting my
360 stuff on my Xbox One.

Another way to attempt to fix this, is to remove the account from the xbox in settings->accounts-> remove accounts. After that is removed login with that gametag again to force the console to fetch your live subscription data. In rare cases your Xbox account and live account will lose sync.

Store any saves you want to keep on the cloud storage.

Then go to your storage settings on your 360 & format the hard drive.

That will wipe everything,including your account,from the hard drive.

All the things you've uploaded to the cloud storage will still be available on your xbox one.

 

Format a storage device

Important When you format a storage device, it erases all of the information saved on that device, which can’t be recovered. Make sure that you don’t want the information stored on that device, or that you’ve backed up the information to another device
before you continue.

To format a storage device

1. Press the Guide button
   on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.
   
2. Select Storage or Memory.
3. Select the storage device that you want to format, and then press Y
   on your controller.
4. Select Format. You will see the following message:
   
   This will delete all content on this device. Do you wish to continue?
5. Select Yes to format the storage device.
6. If prompted to enter your console serial number, do so, and then select Done. This step helps guard against accidental formatting.
   

 

Let me rephrase my question since apparently I can't edit my post for some reason. I borrowed a relatives Xbox 360 and will be giving it back to him soon. I just want to get rid of my account on that 360 so that his kids can't mess with my account when they
play on the console. But I want to take my account off that console without losing everything I purchased, and save data. That way I can game on Xbox One without all that info gone.

Okay, so you want to delete your profile but not wipe the hard drive?

To remove the profile from the console, follow
these steps.

 

I know how to do that. I just want to know if "delete profile and items" means I delete my entire account on the 360 but cannot redownload any 360 title on Xbox One or worse, delete my whole Xbox account forever.

 

You can delete profile & items without worrying.That will just remove everything of yours from the 360.

All your purchases are linked to your account so when you log onto your xbox one & download your profile any backwards compatible 360 games/dlc will be there for you to download.

Your account info is stored on a secure Microsoft server so you won't be able to completely delete it & lose everything.

Like I mentioned,the only thing you would have to do is upload any saves you want onto the cloud storage on the 360.
