Remove a child account

Hi, I've tried to remove a child account from my account t that was done in error. It's not my child and the parents are wanting to add him to their account. I suspect they have somehow done this between the children! When I click on remove him from my account it says only the adult organiser can remove him

I'm the only adult on the family group, I have no idea what to do, please help! Thanks

You can remove a child by either promoting it (over 17) from the child account's Account Management, or by removing the parent/child relationship entirely from the parent account.

Hi there! I'll do my best to help.

Isn't there another account that is part of the family group you're in? Possible that the organizer of the family group is a different account.

Try to login your account via https://family.microsoft.com website using a different device and different browser and see if you get the same error. Alternatively, try to use the Microsoft Family Safety app on your mobile if it will work.

Are you asking to promote an account from child to adult? If so then please try the steps at the link below

Is your account labeled as a family organizer? I don't think that closing your account would remove the child from the family group but it could be possible. However, account closure will take 60 days before it's completely deleted from the system.

For our workaround, try removing your saved places and location alerts before removing the child account.
