Remote play on Xbox App

I am having an issue with remote play on the Xbox app for both Android and IOS device. So currently, I am able to connect within my home to my Xbox Series X. It's connected via ethernet and is pretty seamless at home. However, when I am outside my network (say at my office), I am unable to connect through remote play on the Xbox app. It says the console can be found but it cannot connect to it. More perplexing is if I'm using my phone cellular coverage and turn Wifi home on my device, I am able to connect to the Xbox. It's not great but at least the connection is there. I'm confused why I can't connect to the Xbox remotely when I'm wired in or using the 5g network on my office network but I am able to do it through my phone data.

I've tried the suggestions that some have posted by going to the Xbox settings and setting the remote play to "only Xbox profiles signed in through the app" both on and off. Both results left my unable to connect.

My apps are all up to date and I've done a restart on both devices.

Yes, I agree. This is similar like remote play (app is the same). In the old xbox companion app for remote play you can use 4 controllers to remote play but unfortunally we canot use old xbox companion app with xbox series.

Two different things one companion app is a front end to your xbox for remote play

Xbox app is storefront for pc and remote play and cloud play

I am confused, is there another way to use wifi remote play than the xbox app?

I use the xbox app on every device for remote play. (Xbox to tablet/PC)

I'm having similar problems. Remote play is not working but I think the app can comunciate with the console because I see the library and I can change the name of the console in the app.

If I rename the Xbox console on the Xbox settings, remote playing starts working. But after a few hours, the problem again.

Another problem I have is with the remote controller of the app and with the connection from digital assistants. Remote conroller and digital assistants don't work until I change the xbox name on the xbox settings.
