    Remote play on series X: iPhone connects, iPad can't.


    I'm at the end of my patience.

    My iphone (11 pro) connects to the beast with the snap of a finger, with elite series 2. My
    ipad pro, on the other hand... insists on throwing „found the console
    but can‘t connect“. Same network. Same console. Same everything. Iphone
    connects hassle free, lagless. Ipad couldn‘t connect even once
    away from home. Tried everything, including resetting ipad‘s network
    settings altogether. Turned off wifi on iphone, to try and connect over
    LTE. That’s hassle free, too. Connected ipad to iphone over the same
    mobile hotspot. Same error. Series X is no barriers. Tried also both
    „only signed in profiles can connect“ and „everyone can connect“ too.
    I'm really gonna go mad. Seeing iPhone connecting in a few seconds while
    iPad throwing errors every single time is frustrating as hell.

    Things I tried:

    Resetting ipad's network settings.

    Updating ipad to latest OS.

    Turning the setting named "allow local network connections" on and off on ipad.

    Renaming the console from within ipad xbox app (someone recommended)

    Fiddling with all the settings on series x, including no barriers, everyone can connect, only signed in profiles can connect, stream to play on, off

    Trying to connect from ipad while iphone is already connected (disconnects iphone with same error)

    Things I will try but know that won't work either:

    Removing the console from my microsoft account and setting it up from the ipad from scratch.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Xbox thinks headset connected anytime I remote play on iPad

    ALSO: Connecting with my iPhone to remote play on my Xbox ALSO causes the Xbox to think a headset is connected. So not just confined to connecting with my iPad.

    I’m using my iPad or iPhone remotely when I play games. No HDMI cable. I reset network settings on my Xbox/iPad as well. No luck.

    Unfortunately there’s no way to completely disable the headset on the Xbox, as it automatically assumes a headset is plugged in as soon as I start remote playing on my iPad or iPhone. As soon as I stop remote playing, it goes back to normal.

    I just tried the xcloud service directly from my series s and it worked absolutely flawless.

    Now I am even more confused than before.

    Why can I play cloud games directly from my Xbox in an astounding quality but it is not possible to remote play from Xbox to pc/ipad.

    But what confuses me even more is that it works perfectly with ps remote play.

    Just tested steam remote play from the PC to the iPad and that also worked wonderfully.

    Maybe it's an general problem with the series s/x consoles?

    Yup it's up to date too. And it works if I remote play with my iPhone. Issue only arise using my iPad. What else could be the reason?

    I have looked at both iPad and iPhone. If you are properly connected to your XBOX, you should see a 'toolbar' at the bottom of the screen that includes what you are playing now, an audio icon and the remote icon... at least I do.

    I had to check the connection at first; without it there is no bar showing.
