remote play not connecting iPad

Sorry to hear about the issue. Please delete the Xbox app from your iPad and install it back again. Make sure that its operating system is up-to-date.

On your console, try to re-enable remote play features.

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
Go to Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Remote features.
Uncheck the Enable remote features checkbox.
Under Power options, select Sleep.
After a minute, try enabling it again. Then perform a power cycle, press and hold Xbox's power button for 10 sec. Unplug the power supply for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.

On your iPad:
Open the Xbox mobile app.
Select the My Library icon and select Consoles.
***Swipe down your screen twice or thrice to refresh the list.
Select the console you want to connect to and then press Remote play on this device.

ALSO: Connecting with my iPhone to remote play on my Xbox ALSO causes the Xbox to think a headset is connected. So not just confined to connecting with my iPad.

It could be due to the iPad's connection, go to the iPad's Settings > WiFi. Tap the 'i' icon on your WiFi network. Disable 'Private Wi-Fi Address'. Try running Remote Play again.

If the issue persists, scroll down to Configure DNS. Change it to manual. Then add 2 new servers: 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1. Try Remote play again.

I’m using my iPad or iPhone remotely when I play games. No HDMI cable. I reset network settings on my Xbox/iPad as well. No luck.

Unfortunately there’s no way to completely disable the headset on the Xbox, as it automatically assumes a headset is plugged in as soon as I start remote playing on my iPad or iPhone. As soon as I stop remote playing, it goes back to normal.

I just got the xbox one IR remote and can confirm the menu and pop up menu buttons on the remote still do not work!! What a waste of money this remote was, these buttons work on the connected glass app on my iPad but not on the remote, unacceptable...
