Remote Play and Xbox Live Status

Hello all, I have just moved and have different internet. I usually play Xbox on my PC via remote play and streaming. However, the xbox live status has been down/limited since 8/18/2021 around 12:20 am. I have tried numerous times to play on my PC since and it won't even find my Xbox. I don't think it's a coincidence, but does anyone know what time it will be back working? or if I am doing something wrong?

I believe the problems on Live at the moment have nothing to do with your problem.

Compare the IP of your Xbox to that of your PC - they should be within the same range. So for example, if your Xbox IP is somewhere within 192.168.0.XXX then your pc would also have to be in that range. Finally, they'll also need to have a matching subnet mask.

If you don't know the values for your pc, on windows, open a command prompt and type 'ipconfig' and hit enter.

Make sure to turn on your Xbox One and connect it to the same subnet as your Windows 10 PC. If it’s turned on and connected to the same network, you may need to specify the IP address of the Xbox One. You can find your console’s IP address by pressing the Xbox button to open the guide, going to Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings, and then selecting Advanced settings.

Open the Xbox Console Companion app on your PC. In the navigation pane, select Connection, enter the Xbox One IP address into the Xbox One not listed? Enter your console’s IP address box, and then select Connect.

If this doesn’t work, your Xbox One probably isn't on the same subnetwork as your Windows 10 PC. Check that both are on the same network.

Important: Make sure you don’t share the same SSID (network name) for both your 2.4 GHz network and your 5 GHz network.

Some wireless routers will default to using a single name (SSID) for both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, while others will default to two separate names that help you identify the frequency band. If your router uses the same network name for both networks, you can configure the router to assign different names to each network. By creating separate names for each, you can explicitly configure the PC and the Xbox One to use a specific network and frequency band.

Finally, try restarting your PC and your console, as this can sometimes fix connectivity issues.

I am sorry to hear what happened there. As of this moment, there's a known issue for remote play. Please check the Xbox Live status page here https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live-status

We will have to wait until it gets fixed and try linking your Xbox app on mobile again.
