Remote access not working from outside local network

I used a DNS service to connect to my console from work for years but about three months ago i also started to have this problem thanks to some research and no help from microsoft i finally just did a post on Reddit and received some information that Microsoft
have done a system update on Xbox One that no longer allows remote streaming from outside of the LAN (Local Area Network) the console and the PC's IP Address must be on the same subnet in order to work.

I now use a VPN to access my console.

I believe they have done this because Microsoft X-Cloud is coming and why allow access to a remote console when you can sell a service to people that does the same and make money from it.

However all of the settings are enabled and is set up correctly.

Locally it works fine, this isn't the issue; it's connecting through port forwarding which it doesn't work.

I am able to manage and maintain connected to the local network, but when trying to connect via forwarding I've set up for remote access (i.e. outside of home network on another private network).

The ports are correctly opened on each network, I have checked this and it worked absolutely fine for over the past year, it is only recent it has stopped.

My ISP have confirmed they haven't restricted or closed any ports.

Yep, me too...works on local network but not on remote...worked ok a week ago.

Question: on your phone, is the app permitted to access your local network?

Check your mobile device settings outside the Minecraft app, and make sure that the app's permissions include "Access to Local Network". That should hopefully fix the problem.

Let me know if that doesn't work. I'd also appreciate whether the phone is either iOS or Android to see if I can find more specific guidance for you.
