Remnant: From the Ashes Save File

My friend and I were playing Remnant yesterday and stopped for the night, when we came back to it today my save file was gone, I checked the wgs file in the local appdata and I found the save file that I had but the game wasn't using it, I made a copy just in case to which I then deleted the file and put it back to see what would happen. When I went back into the game it deleted the file, I then created a new character I saw a new save file appeared, I then deleted it in-game and the save file changed/deleted and replaced, and when I tried to put those save files back in they got deleted as well. So did my original save file somehow get deleted by itself in-game or something else? Also is there a way to get the save file to work again or am I forced to make a new save?

Have you tried deleting all files from the folder and starting the game to see if the progress is resynchronized with the cloud?

I just did, twice to make sure and it just starts with a new character and a Xbox pop up appears on my screen saying it's synchronizing then fully synchronizes with no change in game. The container file in the game saves file reset from being 103 to 4 so I know some type of change happened.

Have you tried deleting all files from the folder and starting the game to see if the progress is resynchronized with the cloud?

I saw that you managed to regain progress up to a certain point, but not the items in your inventory.

Perhaps the developer can retrieve these items but you will have to contact them. On this link, you can do this.

Remnant: From the Ashes isn't part of Xbox Play Anywhere, which means that your save file isn't transferred between both devices. What happens is that your character is used on the game while playing online, and it is attached to your account through the game's servers, and not a save file. Sadly, if you've lost your character on the game's services, you'd need to contact their support to check if it is possible to recover that character, but it most likely isn't.
