Hello everyone I have just been reading the post's on the forum and i see a few reporting how there x box one's have had issue's like broken disk drives and freezing up. I have just purchased one for xmas and I am thinking have I made a mistake. The reason
I bought it was I have a 360 and I loved the games and the console itself. Is *** really as bad as it sounds or am I reading it wrong, I hope it's the latter. Thank' you

    :)

Are these consoles bought new or used. Also, what is the error that you have

I see. When you purchase a used console you are purchasing whatever the previous owner did to the console or how old the console is. This is not something that you can blame Microsoft for.

I would think that with the amount of money you are putting out you would be better off purchasing a new console. There are a lot of sales on over the holidays to check out.

I wish there was more that someone here could do to help you out but recommending buying new is the best option here.

I'm not saying I haven't hadany problems but hat you'll find is your more likely to see a thread where somebody is complaining about something going wrong !

Thousands more are out there playing there Xbox without any problems!

So good luck and I hope you can add yourself to the latter list ! reliability. :)

There's something about having a Silver Account that makes people critical of Microsoft.

Mine's been working fine from Day 1.

None of my buddies who I know in real life who got them on Day 1 have had any trouble with them.

None of the people on my XBox LIVE Friends list who got them on Day 1 have had any trouble with them.

That being said my original XBox ONE Headset did stop working properly.

So I went to the drawer where I keep the receipts for expensive electronics purchases, took the receipt and headset to the shop and they swapped it for a new one free of charge and apologised for my inconvenience.

  6. This is my second profile for Xbone but had the console since launch and it does seem well made, no overheating or disc drive problems.

The console itself is well ventilated, hence the size and oversized fan to cool. They didn't want to take any chances unlike 360's red rings etc. Xbone isn't powerful enough to overheat anyway so that is a good and bad thing I suppose.

The controllers on the other hand are a lottery, I've had 3 already because they are poorly made and you might end up getting one with broken sticks like me.

In the early days of the 360 this forum was literally full of posts about faulty consoles. The 360 had problems with early models which gradually improved with each hardware revision.

Since the xbox one came out there have only been a handful of posts about problems. No product is 100% problem free, but the xbox one seems pretty bullet proof.

The disk drive fault with launch consoles was a fixed very fast. Nothing to worry about as far as hardware goes now.

Almost what Az said, I know 1 person who has had problems with their console, or so he said and I am not sure I believe him or if it wasn't his own fault.

However I would recommend it to anyone, and there will always be fault products at some point, but electrical products all have warranties.
