Some people are so up their own behind its unreal. Try calling the 14 year old boy who lives with his grandma who doesnt have internet that he cant play xo because he is a dinosaur. Not everyone has access to the internet, and not via choice.

Seriously some people are shocking and so short sighted.

    :)

  2. Ridge Racer Unbounded - First review up and it's good !

A bit late for me now, but 3 months after release Bugbear have tweeted on Wednesday that a console patch is now available to fix the multiplayer / matchmaking problems.

Wish these games would work properly on release. I traded my copy but might look for a cheap pre-owned somewhere......

(Can anyone confirm the patch is out and whether it works now ?)

Im sure that developing these games so fast means they have less time to concentrate on flaws etc..

Boas+BS5, no one is calling any 14 year old kid a dinosaur. I think you missed the point entirely, maybe it was from suggesting other peoples Opinions are due to them having their head shoved up somewhere.

The point being, the world is getting more and more connected and it's not going to stop any time soon short of an apocalypse or WW3.5 (#).

Here's a real story instead of some made up "14 year old kid living without Internet", my 5 year old godson has an Internet Connection for his IPad! Yeah, a real life 5 year old with far more Network Connections capable of Downloading any Game and it's subsequent
Updates then what would be required as a minimum for these dreaded "online only" Consoles.

I guess Microsoft said loudly what the gaming industry is doing in silent....

No surprise for me,online is required if you want to use your entertainement console or play a game...

Other than that it's like watching TV without an antenna.

That's maybe sad,but this is the way this industry is going.Consumers needs to be warn.

And i think before internet, games were released but never got fixed. It was all about "luck".Now,at least we can have patches, new contents,.....

I cant agree it was all about luck, they had to release games that were rigourously tested and worked properly simply because consumer backlash would have been hugely damaging if games were released as they are now with no method of patching. Now they can
get away with it and they do, we as consumers calm down soon as we have our patch and can get gaming.

It's not something that appears in this millenium....Since 70's games are released with bugs and glitches

Nobody played a game before Xbox 360.

Nobody remenber Tomb Raider 1,2,3 ?

    Elder Scrolls Arena ?

    Fifa 93 ?

    ......

Videogames aren't technicaly perfect and never will....

The only thing that change,is now gamers can show bugs and discuss about it over internet. This is one of the reasons it seems that every games are release unfinished,broken,ect...

Between Pong and Halo' launch,a lot of games were release with bugs,glitches,.....And sometimes you got "lucky" enough to not have issues with a game.

Well I have Ben gaming in one format or another since Pong and I really don't remember huge problems with games to the extent some of them are now.

I remember many games from my Apple 2 days that would fail to load parts of levels or just freeze. No patches for those games. And when it did freeze or crash it took 5-10 min to reboot the game sometimes. Games have just become more complicated now. Consoles
have Ethernet ports for a reason.

If every 1 /100 people have limited internet does that mean that the industry should cater to the minority? You will never please everyone all the time, so be it.

I nearly gave up gaming all together back in 2008 as I didn't even have an Internet connection in my house. I was buying games like Forza and PGR and even CoD and just playing through the campaigns and once done thinking now what. It wasn't until a year
later when I got internet connected to the house that I would plug the 360 into the net and see what online gaming was really like.

It really did open up a whole new way to play for me and connected me back with some friends who I also got online with the console.

It really is a natural evolution of gaming which you either join or get left out.

Unfinished products rushed for the Christmas period is not exactly ideal for the gaming market. Believe it or not, game cartridges used to get revisions, most visible when you're dumping the roms. In this day and age we have sdk's that are a fragment of
what they turn out to be. Then we have complete stuff ups like Halo MCC. I have done a fair bit of traveling and I think it's quite a bit more then 1 in 100 tbh.

    @Lostkauz

"The people who want to "just play Offline", like the dinosaurs, History leaves them behind." Im assuming 14yr olds are included in that statement?

You just proved my point anyway because your godson has internet means the whole world does or should do?

    Head firmly stuck i think.

The fact is not everyone has the internet, if games are being released broken then people without internet cannot get the patch and have to stick with said broken game.

Its not a problem for me and i doubt it ever will be but i can see how it affects others and to tell them to just 'deal with it as the world is connected and your not' is just mean, the xo is not an online only console so having to connect it to the internet
should not be a requirement to get a working game.

^ There are quite a few people out there with no internet access of their own.

I have one friend who lives about 12 miles from me and it's the one area of where we live that at this moment has no broadband at all, it's due to done sometime between September 2015 - March 2016.

When my friend got his XB1/PS4 he brought them to my house to do updates, when he buys any games ( which is not often now ) he does the same but he's said himself ( and I'd be the same ) if he couldn't get access to broadband, he wouldn't of bothered with
    either console.

So ok I'm lucky, I have broadband but I do think these consoles should be more user friendly lets say for people with no access. The trouble is I bet these companies, whether it's the console makes or games developers know that the vast majority of console
owners have internet so it's a case for the unlucky few to "lump it" as they say which I personally think it's totally unfair!
