    reinstallation question

i want to try reinstalling my GTA V. this isn't a "don't install the play disc!" issue, this is an issue i read a little about having to do with certain older model xboxes.

there is no official fix (or official idea of why it's happening to some unlucky sods), but there is a recommended reinstallation method which MAY help.

    .

i'm willing to try it, but i'm confused about part of the instructions and i wanted to get some clarification before i go deleting things. (i attempted to email the author of this article directly, but this stupid website only allows you to contact via the
website itself, which requires you to log in and sign up and create a password....)

    .

    1. Delete all GTAV game data.

    2. Clear system cache three times.

    3. Delete marketplace data from storage system items.

    4. Unplug console for three minutes.

    5. Install disc 1.

    6. Power off, do not insert disc 2.

    7. Restart.

    8. Install disc 2.

    9. Play.

    .

so my concern is with STEP 1. if i delete all GTA V game data, will that erase my saved games? will that erase my GTA:Online data? and what about "marketplace data"? what is "marketplace data"? what does it mean if i delete it?

    :)

    Reinstallation worked for me.

  3. re: reinstallation

I have this issue now. I have like a hundred collections and I had to reinstall the app. I can re-download some, but the vast majority require me to "re-purchase" them using Gold. How can I get back the ones I've already used my Gold to purchase without
    having to re-purchase them again?

    reinstallation question

    1. Marketplace data can be erased, erasing it is actually used as a troubleshooting step sometimes.

    2. If you erase the whole game, just do not delete the one that says saved game, that is your progress for the campaign. also, I recommend if your going to delete the game, only delete the 4 parts of the game, all the DLCs, and the title update.

    3. You will never have to worry about the online saved game because that is saved on Rockstars cloud server, not your hard drive. Even better news is, you can go from console to console without taking your hard drive or USB flash drive.
