Registering Xbox One

I'm hoping an Xbox support staff member reads this as I was referred to this forum after calling xbox customer support. Basically, I got a message Thursday inviting me to preview updates called "Xbox Live Preview". The app has a green background and has
a key on it.

Every time I open it, it tells me "Sorry, this console has already been registered to another account" (or something like that). I'm the only account on my Xbox and when I did the initial setup, I registered it to that gamertag (should be the one I'm posting
as). It's been my only GT ever since I signed up for Live in 2007.

I think I know why it's doing this, but I am requesting to have it registered to my Gamertag. At first, I bought the PS4 in November because of the hype around it and I wanted to try PlayStation again. After a while I realized how bad PlayStation still is
and I still hate it, so I traded my PS4 to a guy for his Xbox One straight up in March (saved me $100). It was his first Xbox and he told me he hated it and will never buy one again so there's really no point keeping my Xbox One registered to his gamertag.
I have no idea what his gamertag even is since the console was completely wiped and I did the initial setup. He was a person off Kijiji and it was so long ago I have no way to contact him.

Before I traded my PS4, Xbox team assured me no matter what, it'll act like new and there won't be anything I'm missing out on if I did the initial setup. I am a long time Xbox gamer and have had Gold since 2007 or something so I am a long time fan. Even
in my brief PS4 stint, I still had 360 so I was never not registered to Xbox (My "7" beside my gamertag indicates I have been paying Microsoft for Gold services for 7 years.)

Please let me register my console (Xbox One) to my actual gamertag. That's all I want. I was invited to Xbox Live preview and the error message I've been getting is such a tease.

Hey there, I hope I can shed some light on some of the processes there.

Moving the console over to your account shouldn't be a real issue. For that though, you will have to call into support to get it registered. A support agent can go ahead and override that and put it onto your account. That's the good news. The bad news
is, as soon as they do that, you're going to lose the warranty. The warranty that covers the system for one year is non-transferable and is only valid for the purchaser. Once it moves to your acct, it's going to void the warranty.

You may still be able to use the preview program after you get it registered, but I wanted to make you aware of what may happen in the offhand.

 

Thanks for the reply. I tried calling and asking them and they keep telling me they don't have the power to do that and the support staff on the forums are the ones that can do that.

As for the warranty I couldn't care less since I bought a 2yr warranty with GameStop so I would never use the Microsoft warranty anyways.

After wait for months, I was finally invited and received that message. Then I chatted to an Xbox live person and was told to come here. PleaseI just want to be a preview member

Just because you're invited does not mean that you'll be accepted into the program. As the program is almost completely full, the likelihood of you being accepted into the program is unfortunately very slim.
