Register Xbox and Controller Device Issues

This can sometimes happen due to a sync issue between your Microsoft account and device registration.

Please try these steps:

1) Clear your browser cache or try using a different browser/device to access your devices page. Click here https://account.microsoft.com/devices

2) Make sure you're signed in with the same Microsoft account that you use on your Xbox console.

3) If the device still prompts registration despite showing the serial number, try removing it and re-adding it from the same page.

In order for you to possibly get a replacement for the controller in question. You must register the device and then create a service order. As long as you are still under warranty, they will generally replace the faulty device. I wish you good luck.

If the controller came with your Xbox Series X, register the console. After registering the console select 'See details' on the registered device and then opt to start order with that console. After selecting start order, you'll be able to select accessory as the category of issue.

• If your controller has developed a drift issue, you should select "Device" from the "Category" drop-down menu, and then "Thumbstick issue" from the "Issue type" drop-down menu.

• To clarify, is this how you've tried requesting a replacement?

- Go to https://account.microsoft.com/devices
- Click on "Register device"
- Register your controller using its serial number.
- Locate your controller on the devices page.
- Click on "See details", and select "Start order" from the Device Coverage menu.

Hey there!

In order to register accessories (ie controllers) on the
Device Support page, you need to have your console registered first. So go ahead and register your console (even though it's not the issue currently), and then you should be able to register your Elite controller as an accessory. At that point, you should
be able to order parts from that page as well.

i have 5 registered xbox one consoles, but the elite controller was bought seperate, not bundleled with an xbox one.

it will not accept the serial number from the elite controller...

You need to register the device you are using it with, it's an Xbox controller elite?
